| Thats real crap service there mate. What you want to do is just ask them to use the EPC to find the steering wheel for the SLK280 you don't want one customized to your VIN because it will be the same as you have now you just the standard one and then tell them to pick the one with the code for the buttons and price it up.

I've experienced the same thing several times. We gather information from the various forums that most dealer personnel are unaware of. It becomes an education process. Normally, the dealer personnel's first response is "it can't be done". Make sure you have all your facts, part number's etc., together and then deal with the dealer.

| Thats to change the function of the buttons not to actually add paddles to them its so they end up working like the 55's shifters.

| Yeah you can just have paddles mate that mod is to set them up like in the 55 i.e. one side shifts up the other shifts down not like the others that can be shifted either up or down from both buttons. That second option will be what would be installed on your car because its easier to do.

The paddle shifters for these cars are a factory option only. There is no possible way to add this option to your vehicle. Sorry for the inconvenience, James Butcher Parts Advisor Euro Motorcars Germantown 301-601-5500 | |

| Mate i understand what your saying your dealer says it cant be done so it cant be done right. But ask any of the members on here what the dealer actually knows and you will be very surprised with the answers you get. It is easy to add paddles to the car i will be happy to help if you do decide to go ahead with it but your going to have to learn if your working with MB that they don't know as much as they would like you to think.

you'll find with this forum and super helpful people like Dan, it can save you a lot of hassle visiting the dealer if you don't mind doing a little bit yourself.
