| It must be SLK problem week for me. Today my multicd changer is making a noise like its in a mechanical loop. It wont eject. It's full has 6 cd's in. yet non of the lights are on. If I press the button it comes up ejecting that number and noting happens but the same noise. Like something is moving. The menus on commend work ok, but if I click a cd it goes blank like it's waiting. This continues even when I take the key out of the ignition. So I figure I best find the fuse or I may end up with another battery flattened. The fuse for the C changer is number 19. which is located in the boot/trunk. Where is this? do you have to remove carpet? It's not a big problem, a minute or so after the key was out it stopped the noise, soon as I fire the ignition again it starts..maybe its time to visit mr stealer

| DanSLK, Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp ! must say that I haven't the faintest idea about those fuses but as it's making noise, it must mean that you have power going thru that fuse... I'm afraid that only Mr Stealer ( ) will be able to solve that... |

| So sorry to hear Easty mate. This should be covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

| Sorry to hear easty mate not having a very good week so far pal. The fuse is on the SAM in the left hand side of the trunk carpet is just held on by those stupid plastic clip thingys once they are out it just pulls out of the car. If i where you i would not even bother with doing that because the changer comes out so easy it's going to be just as simple to remove it from the glovebox and pull the plug on it that way if it is stuck in a loop that might reset it because once power is restored it should run along all the disks anyways. Hopefully that will fix it mate if not the stealer will just swap it out anyways they don't bother taking them apart anymore if the reset don't fix it i would still leave it plugged in and powered up because its part of the MOST ring and will stop the COMAND and all that goes along with it from working if it's left unplugged. Good Luck and shout if you want the instructions to remove the changer its only a few steps.

| I'd like to know how to remoe the unit if possible mate , be interesting to see how big the glove box gets.. it looks like there are two holes either side of the unit. I figured a special pronge tool when I looked. Hope they rescue my CD's if they swap the unit.

| OK mate that blanking plate that is in the back of the box just pulls out by hand then once thats out give the changer a pull and it should also just simply slide out towards you. Once its out enough remove the connectors from it and thats it mate is really is as simple as that then to remove the changer from its carrier just undo the screws and release the fiber optic cable from the case then pull out the changer. Install is as always the reverse of this. If you do have any probs just give me a shout. Once you reconnect it do the fiber line first and then as soon as you plug in the second plug press and hold any of the buttons to try and get it to start ejecting before it starts to mess around scanning the disks if it does not work just make sure you say to them that its full of disks and you will be wanting them back maybe if your feeling ambitious you could remove the cover of the changer yourself and remove the disks i have never done that myself but i don't see it being all that hard.

| Many disk devices will have a small hole somewhere that a paper clip can be inserted and that will trigger the eject mechanism mechanically. You might look for such a thing, but be careful because there might also be other types of small holes that paper clips shouldn't be pushed into |

| I am sorry to hear this... I seldom use the 6-cd changer. I just don't care for it (I listen to MP3s on a DVD). The changer works fine as a rule but sometimes, a record-change fails to engage. I have to eject the cd and put it back in. |

| Dan as normal you helped me sort out the problem in moments. As you said the facias came off very easy. I trusted you that nothing would snap. I slid the unit out and pulled of the power and optical then plugged in just the power and turned the ignition. the command wouldn't boot. so I turned off again and plugged in the optical and she worked a treat and a little messing about. I ejected all the CD's and one of them had linear rubbing marks and its a brand new cd. so i'm guessing it was a little trapped. Anyhow once again mate you saved MB loads of cash! you must have saved them plenty in warranty fee's so far they should give you a free black series.

| Glad to be of help mate. Because the MOST is a ring it all has to be connected to each other for it to fire up sometimes you can get things like the changer eject to work with just the power line sometimes not i think with the newer ones it needs to be connected it works about 50% of the time on mine when the odd CD jam occurs. Glad you got your CD's back mate MB says that the drive conforms to the specs about thickness of the disks but i don't think it does CD jams happen way to often for a unit that is within the specs as far as i am concerned. MB are as tight as a ducks arse when it comes to money mate i think i would need to save the life of the CEO to even be considered for a free car and even then it would prob be a C-Class diesel but so long as i saved you a trip to the stealer and all the crap that goes along with it then i am happy. Cheers Dan
