| Has anybody experienced that the power was lost about 5 seconds after hard acceleration? It was gone for 2 seconds, and then it came back again. A little bit scary indeed. I have the 5-speed AT and I’m not sure if the problem occurred when shifting from first to second gear. Bengt |

| Don't worry about i have accidentally over revved a manual SLK and had the same thing happen like Ynot says its just the computer killing the power you will have the same problem if you floor the throttle with the car in neutral where it will kill the power way before the red line for your engines benefit.

| Well, over revving with the automatic transmission? Is it possible? The gear box should shift up to next gear when the engine is on top rev, or? Perhaps the right rear wheel lost grip and some electronic gizmo shut off the power momentarily? Bengt |

| Yeah if a wheel lost traction then thats the feeling you get it is quite invasive the tranny will hold a gear to almost the red line if you are pushing it but it wont over rev it no
