Default Face lift subtle changes

The major changes are well documented and include:

- New wheels
- new comand sat nav
- new steering wheel and system
- new engine
- more aggressive body shape. I have come to like the new shape a lot compared to the previous.
- Bigger wing mirrors
- New instrument dash style

So what are the more subtle changes I have come across so far?

- The seat belt guides and the airscarf vents are black on the red seats. Before, they used to be red. I complained about this when I picked up the car thinking it was a misbuild but it isn't

- Someone else has reported that the roof will operate when moving (not tried this myself yet)

- The floor mats are bigger (I am scraping the barrel here!)

- The seat feels is has more lumber support but this could be my imagination

Any others?

The antenna?

Different window switches

Could come under the COMAND but the silver trim bar on the console?

Different window switches?? But what's the difference? They seem to look and operate the same as before or am I missing something?

Antenna is definately different. I will look for the silver trim bar tonight.

I wish i could describe them but I'm no good at descriptions sorry.

These are more a style that you can slide your finger under and lift up, the older ones where push open and push closed

In the 2009 SLK 350 review on CNET towards the END the guys in the car was driving the SLK 350 in circle about 5-10mph with the top coming down at the same time...

Can someone confirms how fast you can drive the SLK and operate the roof at the same time?

Can't be sure but my 05 would work some where between 5 and 10 mph and the SL up to about 10 mph --- as with my other post be careful of bumps the top is rather fragile

As DansSLK pointed out in the past, the best is to operate the roof only when stationary and not in motion. Roof can be easily thrown off alignment when operated while in motion and more so if you go over a speed bump.

I've raised and lowered my top (with SmartTop module installed) at 30 MPH quite a few times without any problems BUT I made sure that I wasn't turning or hitting any rough roads while doing it.

Do you also have the R170 ant installed?
cause i was wondering what is the farthest distance you can remote-control open the roof from with the SmartTop module installed?

Thanks again.

I have the standard 09 171 short antenna installed. The range is awesome for lowering the top - at least 50 feet or more depending on obstructions.
