| I attended my first ever track event with B4TM4N and few other members from MBfanatics.org. We had 3 SLKs (280, 350 and 55), C55, CLS63, C300, IS350, 135i and 328i and many supports! I know tracking will be fun, but I really have no other idea what to look for and how it feels until I hit the track and entered into the first corner. It was a blast and we all had so much fun! It is a small circuit and really good for newbies like me who know nothing about tracking. Well, here are some pictures to share, enjoy! ![]() B4TM4N ![]() R32 ![]() MB Fanatics Members ![]() B4TM4N taking on the Civic ![]() ![]() Many STI ![]() SLk350 ![]() Many S2K ![]() 328i and CLS63 ![]() one of the fastest car on this track ![]() Me coming out of the gate ![]() ![]() RX8 ![]() Me entering the corner ![]() coming out hard and full throttle !!! | Snowby man that was a ton of fun and I'm really glad you came out!! I love the power of AMG and your ability to use it anytime you need it! You did great for a first timer and I'm glad you had a thrill doing so! I hope to see you at more events and would be great to go with a huge group. Today/yesterday was a huge luxury for me to travel with that many forum members at once!! Never had such a huge group before! Usually no more than 4-6 of us going there, and that's to SMP. This was a great beginners track 'cuz it was so much slower than the track I normally do up. That Miata was damn quick out there!! I had so much troubles trying to chase it down. It was also the first car I battled out with, so I was thinking that my driving was actually degrading. Then after I passed a few other cars realized it was just that car that was super fast. Phew. Anyways let's meet up sometime!

Yes, the AMG is a powerhouse, it gives when you ask! well, except when the ESP kicks in, it stalled for probably 1/10 sec and comes back live... Like you said, probably few more times on the track will give me more confidence and better understanding of what the car is capable of. I am really still learning the proper way to enter the corner, where the brake points are and the lines. This car is packed with so many safty features and OMG the brake, it gave me so much confidence entering the corner as I know it stops. I really don't have any idea how much the brake helps until I really used it on the track. For me as the first timer, I really appreciate the car as it gives me more room to make mistake and have the power to catch up. I enjoyed it so much and I love the AMG ![]() Well, it was a blast and we should definitely do it again, hopefully more forum member can join next time. Afterall, I had lots of fun and that's the most important part BTW, I still have the hemlet in my trunk, need to meet up and return it to you!

http://www.mosport.com/home/home.asp but we were at the smaller circuit which is mostly used for driving training and smaller track event. 100KM East from Toronto which is not too bad, except we got lost on our way there for 30 minutes....

| Hahahah getting lost is all part of the adventure! It's definately great that you went stock for the first time! Though your tires aren't super stock. Toyo Proxes T1R is UHP and I guess one step before R-compound. I don't think R-compound is street legal. For the other guys, what kinda tires normally come with the 55 from factory?? I'm curious. But it's good to learn the car every step of the way as you add mod by mod. Did you have a chance to run up against my friend's SLk 350? His is completely stock but he's been tracking with me since the beginning of 2007 (normally with his modified e46 3series) so he can find decent line pretty quick. It woulda been good if you hopped in his car as well then you kinda get 3 different views of SLK. All ya need is more track time under the belt and you will be untouchable before you know it. We can definately meet up some time!

| Who won? ![]() Just curious where the 280 placed in comparison to the 350 and the 55 since the drivers are all at various skill levels - and how these compared to the other cars at the track. |

350 has been going out on track with B4TM4T since last year, so some experience, but first time on this track 280 has been going out since last year, but first time on this track, also with R-tire with CO. ![]() We didn't have a chance to go all at once, so I am not sure about how I do against the 350. However, I did get a chance to follow the 280 to go out and it lost me at the first turn , pick up a bit when it comes to straight line (thanks to AMG power and the brake), right behind the 280 at the second turn, then lost me again after the turn (thanks ESP). After the first 4 to 5 turns, I say I am about 8 to 0 cars space behind. However, I think I am doing okay against other cars on the track as a first timer, mostly because of the AMG power and the brake. I did get better lines towards the end, but the tires are not holding as much compare to the first few laps. The ESP came on most of the time during the turns and I was going slower.

| This takes me back to my first and only time that we ran the 350 on a track--- AutoX was an SCCA event and they put us in the A class --- it was a blast and we shaved our time down to 31.88 but on the last run we passed the clock at 31 flat but that pesky 7 speed gave me a red line up shift and we hit 3 cones after the light so the 31 didn't count but it sure was a blast
