Tell me it is not true!

I was reading my manuals last night for my new UK spec 350 which I will collect on the 1st Sept and it appears that the UK spec models do not have an outside temperature sensor!!

Please tell me it ain't so.

This is reading I look at all the time. In the summer it clues me in if I should have the top down and in the winter it is a vital piece of safety information when black ice is around.

I cannot understand for one second why MB have so badly hobbled the UK spec cars. If it is something to do with showing kmh and mph at the same time then they should have just added some kmh figures on the analague dial.

Of course they have an outside temp sensor the ECU uses it, you can view the temp on the cluster under the ODO menu.

You can't have it always displayed on the lower screen because of the KMH display, you could ask to have UK mode disabled but 99% of the dealers don't have the privileges on the computers to make the change.

Yeah, I have the same complaint about my C, and the dealership actually tried to set it to "ROW", but were not able to - I assume this is the privilege problem Dans refers too.

I know of a guy with a development DAS kit that travels through London ever once in a while - he's supposed to give me some warning on his next trip through if you are interested.
