3g Iphone

Has anyone got the 3g Iphone to work on a 2007 SLK? I know the first Iphone works.

Bluetooth link works.
Contacts transfer works.
Difficult for remote caller to hear when top down due to road noise.
Waiting on firewire -> USB charging adapter to be marketed.
Until then, no charging of 3G.
