Got Approval For Lens Replacements

I took a quick run over to my dealer's on my lunch hour and got the o.k. for replacement of my right headlight unit and right rearview mirror blinker lens. I hope that this will be the end of my lighting problems for awhile!

I think Dinoman had something that looked like hard water spots on the inside part of the clear polycarbonate lens of the right headlamp assembly. It's noticable in bright sunlight. The spots are near the border between the lens and the hood. (I have something similar but haven't had the chance to talk to the service department. I'm not sure about having the headlamp assembly replaced.)

I do not recall what was wrong with the right rearview mirror, clear blinker lens -- it may be moisture on the inside part of the clear lens. This happened to me too and I had it replaced on the 2nd day after delivery.

Okay, now I remember reading about that. Hmm.... Sounds like I should go out and check for water in lenses...

for the first time yday i saw condensation in my mirror indicators, is it normal? because thats not a sealed unit like the headlight- i think

My right mirror turn signal lens has a crack on the inside, along the lower edge of the lens. It's not really noticeable, unless you look closely, but the service manager saw it immediately, and did not question it at all. I looked at my SL's mirrors over the weekend (identical units) and now I'm wondering whether or not the left lens might also be cracked. Dan, I'm so sorry about your transmission/engine problems, but I admire your can-do attitude, and am confident that when you have finished, your car will be a world-beater.
