Question Service B

I know this is a bit of a daft, blond question but the car is coming up saying Service B in 25 days, which is fine.

So I got the service book out to have a look at what is included in the service, and there is no service B in the book - I have Service's 1 -12, so I'm assuming Service B is the same as Service 2??

Just a standard rtfm problem Service A is a biggy, whereas service B is just basically an oil change (you'll still get skanked for it though)

Angry

Letters, numbers - I wish they'd make their minds up!!!

Yeah I'll be checking what they're charging me for - already know they'll be oil, oil filter, washer fluid on the bill. I'm gonna be booking myself a car and getting as much mileage out of it as possible!!!!

No - you get a service 'A' when youve done bout 12-15K - you get a service 'B' every two years, even if u haven't done enough miles for a service 'A' - for example, my SLK has only done bout 3500 miles in 22 months - it will show a 'B' service in NOV when it comes up for 2yo. But, unlike the States, it's never had it's oil changed from new ??

Another blonde question!!! My car is 14 months old with 7 500 miles on the clock, so no where near the two years - so is there a mile limit for Service B then??

Not that blonde - if you don't do the miles, you'll get called in for a 'B' at 2 years, but if you drive it hard, you might get called in earlier - it depends on time, mileage & diving style - go figure ??

I've had mine for 11 months and have ~9500 miles on it. It is telling me I have a Service B coming up in ~500 miles.

that would be about right - fairly spirited driving, the 'B' service might kick in at about 9k miles.

That's odd... I have had my car for 13 months and I have 17 300 km (10,750 mi) on it. I still have about 8 500 km (5,280 mi) to go before my Service B (and I never had a Service A). I was told that service timing will vary a lot depending on the owner's type of driving. I must be a very conservative driver! I don't really care since my car is in ship shape.

once the cars out of warranty, these are the type of companies you should be goin for - if they come with good recomendation - usually factory trained, and a bit brighter than the average mech, coz they know at a main dealer, most of what u're payin for are the fancy premises

Just job into the service menu and complete the service. Think I'll do my work external from mercedes now if possible. the last straw was the $50 wiper blade on a 6month old car that lives in texas where it never rains.

What? $50 for one wiper blade? What is it made of? Kryptonite?

Maybe they thought since you were english - you'd still be using the wipers even if there was no rain
