I currently have the Motorola H9 bluetooth headset. Currently shopping around for a new Bluetooth option that will work well with top down driving. The Motorola H9 Anyone out there can suggest a good either headset or speakerphone THAT THEY HAVE TESTED WITH TOP DOWN DRIVING? I read all the great reviews on DSP and Jawbone, Jawbone II, but am looking for some real input here. Thanks.

So no personal experience, but my little brother has been driving a MX-5 for the last couple of years, and has been through like 10 different bluetooth headsets without foind one that worked with the top down. Granted he has more noise with the top down than we do with the windows up and the windblocker installed, but still.... I'm in the "screw 'em, I'm driving my fun car" mode

I'm curious if the stock MB phone system works well with the top down? Perhaps i might look into those systems they use on motorcycles that have built in wind restriction technology.

| I have the stock MB with Bluetooth MHI puck. It is noisy (for the other party) with the top down and main windows up due to the background road and car noise. I can hear the other party OK.

there are no cheap options for this. You might want to get one of those throat pickups if it's absolutely necessary to talk with the top down, but your voice will sound weird, and it still won't be very clear. cheap example shown. These will easily run into hundreds of dollars for WIRED, and i've not found a quality bluetooth one yet. http://www.clearercom.com/triumph.htm i've been wanting to get one, let me know if you try it.

Have a look at the Invisio G5 or Invisio B3 from Invisio. They are ear bone mics, therefore they pick up the vibration of your voice from your inner ear and jawbone which means that there is no possibility of wind affecting the mic pickup. Apparently the quality is extremely good. Looks like you cam order from their site (if in the USA).

Here's an update on the new bone mic bluetooth headset. http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/0...t-this-summer/ http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-9927887-1.html Hopefully it will see the light of day soon, and we can all say goodbye to wind/external noise permanently.

Hi, I have the Jawbone and used it at 70 mph with the top down. The other end will know you are driving, but they think you are doing maybe 30 mph with the roof up. It is that good. Obviously, have the windows wound up at that sort of speed! fleep

Can you pair command and Jawbone simultaneously? it would be nice to use the Jawbone as a microphone only. Or perhaps use the normal wire earpiece as a microphone.
