Leaving momentarily to take delivery of my new '09 SLK 350. Already have the 55 hood vents with fins waiting at the dealership to be put onto the car when I pick it up too

Will post pics soon, but seeing as how we get the first real rain we've had on FOUR months, TODAY! (thanks to hurricane Dolly) I won't get to do any top down driving just yet and she'll be dirty with mud and stuff within minutes.

Still... yay!!!

As for the rain, just drive fast enough for the rain to hit the windshield horizontally.

Planning on spending hours tomorrow washing and polishing her. Here's a link to a few photobucket images. One of them shows the car post-amg fin install. The other two are a front and rear shot. I'll take more when it's actually sunny and clean, hopefully tomorrow.

Congrats on the new ride! BTW does it have the little rear fender extenders on the rear edge of the rear wheel openings? I can't tell from the pics. My 09 did not come with them while my 06 did.

I don't think so no. I'm going to try to order the side skirts from the sport package without ordering the whole stinkin thing if I can. And I still need to get it tinted. Gonna check with Boerne dealership tomorrow and see if they can do it since the SA one doesn't anymore.

Ran into a guy when I was picking up some wine that had a grey kompressor, told him about SLKworld He said he has had his front plate off for a year and a half without a ticket, yay!

Nice SLK. Too bad it had to rain on your first day. You'll have many days ahead to drive with the top down, wash, polish, etc. ENJOY IT!

CONGRATS ON GETTING THE CAR!!!!!!

I went 2 years without a ticket. Then I got a $100 no front plate ticket.

Lawyer told me to install plate and take pic of it to show judge and it would be dismissed.

I went to dealer and had plate put on front of car. Hated doing it but thought I had too.

Now I know...I should not have done it!

Judge just made me pay $50 fine and $60 court costs. Plus I had to spend all day in the court room to be called up front to see the judge.

So my advise is if you get a ticket, just double side tape the plate to the front and take a pick of it just in case they want to see a picture and do actually dismiss it. Then remove the plate.

Same with window tint. My son got a ticket for window tint on his windows. Went to court and signed a piece of paper that the tint was removed and ticket was dismissed. They never looked at car or a picture of it. I found out later he did not remove it.

Oh well, I'm legal now! They can only get me for SPEEDING!!!
