| Hi guys and girls, Just wanted to show my face and say hi. ![]() I picked up my 05 SLK350 from a Merc dealer on Tuesday and I'm loving it. It's not got a whole load of toys, but it's black with black, 7g box, parktronic, 6 disc changer, those adaptive "see round corners" xenons and I love it. I've already added a roof module (I didn't go for the SMARTtop) - I got one from these guys - http://www.cabrio-module.de/ - via Ebay for £112 - had it fitted in under an hour and it works a treat. I've also got a bluetooth kit fitted with the CANBUS adaptor, so the phone functions on the MFSW work like they should, which is pretty sweet. I plan to add a few more toys over the months....the first one being an R170 bee sting aerial. I also need to get my Ipod in it, but am unsure about forking out for the Dension Gateway 500 - seems a little on the lumpy side - any suggestions? I've gone from an E46 M3 convertible to a Boxster to this, and (at the moment) the Merc is winning. It's not as much an out and out sports car as the Boxster but for a 'real life' car it ticks every box - the day I need to shave tenths of seconds off a lap time I'll buy something else! Looking forward to chatting to you all and picking up some tips / tricks. |

| Welcome aboard! I've got a Gateway 500 sitting in the US waiting for my next trip over to install. If you have COMAND, in my opinion it's the best option. If you don't have COMAND, I don't think it's even possible on the SLK HU - or at least that's my understanding from the <crap> Denison literature. Maybe Dan can answer this one - does a "non-COMAND, UK" SLK have a MOST audio bus? |

The knowledge that I've gleaned would suggest that the SLK without COMAND still has the MOST audio bus (Audio 20 in my car) - this has been confirmed by a techy at Dension, I'll let you know how I get on. | |

| Welcome to the forum from sunny Glasgow ! I have a late 04 SLK350 in silver with red leather and quite a lot of toys incl COMAND bought in January 08 - loving every minute of it. It has even rekindled my enthusiasm for keeping cars clean with proper detailing - my mates give me a real hard time about my use of clay bars LOL ! If the weather stays warm I plan to take tomorrow off just to go out in the SLK - that's how good it is !! Peter |
