Illumintaed sills option code

My dealer called me today that he can not fit the car with the iluuminated door sills.

On the MBUSA I can nit configur an slk55.

I looked at the slk350 and it has that option.

I need help try to get the correct info about this option, I like to get it from factory.

Any ideas?

don't lose any sleep over this - you can fit them yourself in approx 3-4 hrs (taking your time). MB won't offer to factory fit - they are supplied as a dealer fit option but MB will charge th earth to fit them.

In following this thread and it's link, I'm still not sure what the "factory" illuminated sills looks like. Do they say SLK or Mercedes?
Anyone post a picture?

....and it's too bad Beverage's post doesn't include pictures of the sills! The install is detailed very well.

So that AMG one is the Mercedes OEM one? I like it.
I'm less keen on the ones where it looks like an "insert" was cut into the metal to do the lit part. The "ForMyMercedes" ones are like that.

Do all the OEM ones say AMG?, or are there Mercedes versions as well.

Actually, it would appear they are, or at least you can get it from the dealer. If you go to mbusa.com, and select an SLK350, you can configure "Illuminated Door Sills (set of two)" for $720.

I also just realized if you do the "build car" thing, there is a picture, so at least I now know what they look like. I like the ones you have better. The Mercedes ones seem to have the same "cut out" look for the logo.
