LOL. I'm pretty sure that some of those are illegal in many states/countries...as in they could be used to actually inhale certain "weeds". They sure do look like a dead heads creation!

How could they be used to inhale weed? They are just cigarette lighter plugs that light up, not pipes .

While cigarette lighters are pretty much obsolete (I didn't use them years ago when I did smoke) the 12v ports are useful. There is usually an iPod, or a cellphone charger or a radar detector in mine.

Same here - my biggest problem is usually making the choice between what needs power and the number of plugs I have! :-)

Well, our '07 SLK 280 has a power port on the interior side of the passenger foot well also. But it is difficult to access by the driver, and when using it for a radar detector, one wants to make sure that the connection hasn't come loose!

But, when I drive in town, I really don't use a radar detector, as speed limits in town are reasonable and I just drive within them as a natural sort of thing. For those times, I can think of nothing that blends in as well as the cigarette lighter attachment that came with the car.

Check out this link for a double-socket so you can use two items at once: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...C=SO&U=strat15

There's a plain black plastic cover on this website (http://www.minute-man.com/acatalog/O...ckets_272.html) which can be used in place of the actual lighter. Looks better than having the lighter stick out. It's almost at the bottom of the page. Product titled "Protective Dust Cover."
