HELP Need to Borrow Tail Lights

NY & NJ R171s

I need you help.

It's State Inspection time, and with my tinted tail lights, i will not pass.

I know this is an uncommon request, but i would like to Borrow a pair of rear tail lights for my inspection.

Will come to you, remove yours and swap for mine if you use the car. Then safely return yours back in their place within the hour after i pass.

Lunch included!

Help a fellow SLKer out

Might not be the best idea but didn't someone here recently total their SLK? Is it possible to get some that way?

thanks everyone...

need the damn things for an hour really. Once inspection is done, back to mine. Would hate to have to deal with the dealerships to purchase & then return after my inspection.

spoke with Ken earlier (got_power55) he might be able to help me out.

at the inspection station, the guy told me he liked the lights, and the style, but couldn't pass me... what an ass! but i guess its his job on the line. so everyone is covering their own behind these days and not willing to overlook things.

Try another station.

Maybe you will get a better person?

I agree with all others...Wished I could help you too.

Maybe go to MB dealer, buy the lenses. Return them next day.

Steve, thanks... i will know for sure by around Monday / Tues.

Ken is in NJ and rolls through the area where the inspection station is on his way to work. So i'm going to see if he can help out first since he's the closest.
