I know there are several after-market suppliers selling chrome-finished grill bars for our cars. They look good, but after thinking about it, there is NO chrome at all on my car, save for the tail pipe tips. Everything else is either aluminum-finished or black. And at the front, all is black and body colored. Thus, I thought black grill bars might be neat to distinguish my car from all others similar, while still keeping with the original design theme. Does anybody know if these are available, and if so, from whom?

| Yes you can get them its actually an SLK55 AMG part thus in which the left and right of the MB star horizontal grill is in black rather than body colour.

The black grill bars are standard on all the SLK 55s. It's quite a complex piece to replace, the easiest way would be to just have the regular bumper painted black, or order a chrome piece and have that powder coated in black.

Piecha makes a black one instead of chrome. Scroll to about 1/2 way down the page. Looks like it sticks on with tape.

Yes, I think the black grill bar cover in Tummy's post that just sticks on with adhesive tape is what I was asking about. I imagine the black bars for the 55 are complete bar units that would require removal of my body colored ones. I would want some that just stick on, and can be removed with adhesive remover, if desired. Thanks to all for the responses.
