| If the dyno is setup to spin up the front rollers from the drive at the rear then you don't need to use it. If the front wheels remain stationary when testing the car then you have to enable it or the car will not spool up.

| Dan: You seem to be the expert here. Can you confirm that Dyno mode (or any other way to completely disable the stability and traction control) is not available at all on the R170? Thanks in advance Demick |

| Dyno mode is not available on the 170 but i think the procedure is to pull the fuse.

| No mate, thats ESP off when your in Dyno mode all TC is off thats the point of it because having an active traction system on a dyno or more importantly on a brake test rig can damage the car. No ESP, ASR, BAS, ABS nothing at all.

When the ESP is on, it acts like your dad teaching you how to ride a bike by holding your seat and running behind you. If anything were to happen, he will hold you up so you do not fall. When you turn ESP off by the button, it is like your dad running behind you without touching the seat. If something were to happen, he will catch you before you fall. There is a chance, though, that he might not catch you in time, so you fall anyway. Same as ESP! | |

| It is simple to turn it back on again. When you enter the dyno mode menu, it shows that you can either turn on dyno mode or set it up to turn the safety systems back on the next time you turn on the ignition. Before you turn off the ignition, you get to that screen and select the option to reset upon next ignition on and you're good to go. |

| Mate I'm not trying to be funny but if you take a read of the thread you will see that most of what you have said has been answered already.
