Hello...
What is the line life of merc cars.
I mean how many years till they change the body style.
Is is 10 years ?

Hopefully sooner, but Dan would know best. Great improvements in styling, mechanics, and electronics from R170 to R171. Can't wait for the R172.

Interesting. seems that the SLR is stopping in 2009 and the SLK 171 in 2012.

Well from what i've read the SLR part is true, due to the new "supercar" being manufactured and the Mercedes & McLaren split. I'm personally waiting for more info on the new SLC / Gullwing

Based on that and other lifecycles (and of course Dan :P) by around 2012 we should be seeing the R172.

I think I read that the SL Gullwing will cost darn near $200K.

In general i thought the new generation SLK will only be out 2012 or there abouts but i seems to be reading stories online saying the next gen SLK will be out 2010 with the glass roof.

This doesn't make sense though as stated above and it would be assumed that theres still another 4 or so years to go before the next gen release.

Information regarding the design and availability of the R-172 is pure speculation at this point. Don't believe what you read until it's in official M/B litterature.
