Sold My Baby! Pulled the trigger

Sold my baby today. 05 slk 350, 53300 miles, 3 yrs old tomorrow. Been a great run, no mechanical issues at all. Put deposit on 09 slk 55 amg. it is at the jacksonvile port now.

other standard stuff,

then put my usual stuff back on:

ClearShield Protective Film
OEM MB Plexiglass Windscreen
Eurolight Clear Side Markers
Smarttop
Kleyman 3BFM V1.5 (Noregrets Custom Works)

Thanks Eddy. Black/Black again. 02 slk320 was black. 05 slk350 was silver. if i would have gotten silver again, it would not have seemed like a new car to me. since i clean it twice a day, what's the difference if i got black again! pics as soon as i see it!

Its going to look beastly, I assume its black over black leather correct ? Anyways, I cant wait to see it and I am sure you are stunned and want to get into it as soon as possible.

yes mo, black leather inside black 040.

billh556, i've been smiling since getiing my first 320. and things just got better with the 350. this 55 should hold me for a while.

now have to dance with mb to get a refund on the current extended warranty which actually kicked in at 50k miles. they say i have to do that in person so off i go maybe during lunch tomorrow. one of you guys suggested that instead of getting the extended warranty, to put that money away and have it ready if something happens after the new warranty expires. comments?

Yes go for the extended warranty, I am going to get it when my warranty runs out on the 18th of April 2009.

Congrats on the swap - I'd hold off on the extended warrany if I were you, seeing as you seem to upgrade as often as you do...and with a R172 just around the corner

Jbanks, you take really good care of your SLK and notice you didn't have a chance to use the extended warranty at all on the recent 350. Get the refund and make the money work elsewhere. Moreover, you have the manufacturer's warranty on the upcoming 55.

You can get the extended warranty at a later date, if desired, if you plan to keep the vehicle for a long time.

whiterabbit, hope i am successful on the 2nd round of smarttop install removing that canbus! forward, NOT up!

mo, i am torn between getting the warranty and not. i put on a lot of miles and that 50k mark came 3 months ago and 2 yrs 9 months of ownership. then warranty kicks in at 50k mark or 4 yrs so i was covered for 3 months at least.

thanks eddy, i'll be working harder to keep black as clean as the silver.

fishtailnz, thanks, but this might be my last, 54 yrs old and almost out of my midlife crisis.

my dealer loant (is that a word?) me an 08 e350 until my car arrives. darn nice of him. but it is not me. i need my slk!!!

JB, congratulations on the pending 2009 SLK 55. When do you anticipate delivery? You stated you sold your SLK 350, to another individual? How did you do on the sale? Fifty three thousand miles in three years, that's getting your moneys worth. Happy motoring with the new SLK.
