Where do I get green air filters and about how much do they cost? I also need a socket to remove brake calipers on my 2007 SLK 350. What kind of socket and what size is it? I just recently became a Slk owner and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Try greenfilters dot com. K&n are cheaper, green's are around $80

Just saw some kool blue filters on ebay for $18. From what i gather they seem to be the same as the K&N.

I checked out the slk store for the filters, they don't seem to carry any for the 230.

For the SLK230K you can get K&N filters if memory serves me right but do check with Bill T because green filters come in different shapes and size; they can be installed in your car.

The Greens are better because they are not overly oiled like the K&N's which require to be put in daylight for about 1 hour so the excessive oil dries. Filters over oiled in general can harm the MAF in the car.

I have used mine for only 200 miles but somehow I like the oem feel when I push the gas pedal. Might very well be psychological since others have no issue with them and they did in fact save me 3 to 4 mpg. If you or anyone else interested, pm me and I can sell them at a good discount.
