Does anyone know the volume of the trunk/boot when the roof is raised? I've can't find it in my handbook nor on the contemporary press releases. I know the volume was lower than the 170 with the roof raised, so that might explain M-B's reluctance to publish. With the roof lowered the volume was considerably bigger than the 170's and that is reported quite frequently.
I took some rough measurements for you. With the plastic lid in the UP position, the width is about 45 1/2"; depth is 22"; heighth is 19 1/2". With the lid DOWN, the width and depth measurements are the same; the heighth, however, is 14". (I didn't count the small shelf in the back, which is 5" deep x 28" wide. Wouldn't hold any luggage, but you could definitely throw something small in there if you needed to.)
MB lists the cubic footage in the lid UP position as: 9.8 cubic feet or 277.0 liters and the cubic footage in the lid DOWN position as: 6.5 cubic feet or 185.0 liters. Hope this helps.

It's very odd. I've read 203, 207 and 208 litres. (As an aside, my wife's just looked over my shoulder and said the word I'm looking for is matchbox.) The most oft quoted statistic is 63 litres, this being the increase in size from the 170's with the roof down.
I wonder if I might ask where you got the figures from? I searched for a couple of hours or more, and through my books and magazines, but none give it.
