| We have placed an order for a European Delivery SLK300. We have requested a June 27, 2008 pickup at the factory. We are planning on driving around Germany, Austria and Switzerland for a couple of weeks this summer. I have been told that Geneva Switzerland has the largest 4th of July celebration outside of the USA, and I don't want my wife to miss her annual fireworks fix. I have ordered Artic White, but who knows if artic white is actually available in the 09. We ordered red leather interior, but who knows if the red is the same as the Gull Wing Red. I have no guarantee what the actual price of the car is. The car is for my wife and not for me and so we have ordered automatic transmission. We have dealt with an old Nav system in my wife's Lexus RX300 and my little Garmin Nuvi 370 is far superior so, we have opted to avoid future obsolence and have decided to keep the car minimalized. We tend to drive cars for a long time. She has a 9 year old Lexus, and I recently sold my bad weather 92 Nissan Maxima, and I still drive an old 1990 MPV 4 wheel drive van when the weather is icy or snowy. My primary car is a MINI S 2003. I only have 36,000 miles on that I bought after a 6 month wait when those were new. Anyway, I want to thank everyone here for all of the great links to reviews and their experiences. These things have been of a great deal of help to us in our planning. I would love to hear from anyone from the USA that has done a European Delivery. We travel to Europe fairly regularly, but we haven't been to Germany and the nearby countries since the mid 80s. So, we are looking forward to another trip to Salzburg and other beautiful spots! jc |

| Congratulations on your new toy. As far as the largest 4th of July, I think you have it confused with Denmark. Regardless, we have a large group of Americans here in the Kaiserslautern Germany area. It's the largest group of Americans outside of the USA. There is also another forum member here (DesignoSLK). We've become friends through the forum. Anyway, you're more than invited to join us for a 4th of July visit. We have a huge festival here and last years fireworks lasted almost one hour... My wife and I have a huge house (3 guest rooms) you're invited to use. If interested send me a Private Message. BTW, we pick up our toy in May... Steve |

| Congrats on your order, I know the feeling, you will not know the price until sometime in June IIRC. You have to pay in full before you pick it up in Germany, or finance with MB at a ridiculous interest rate, just wanted to warn you. Expect a 2-5% interest from year to year. You will love European Delivery, my as well as other member's euro delivery experience can be found at benzworld and mbworld. Just do a search for euro delivery, remember to bring a good camera and take a lot of pics. |

| I will write up our trip! I usually do that anyway. I am just hopeful that some of the members here have done this and can tell me of any problems or great things that they discovered doing it. jc |

| congrats on the new toys to both of you jc and steve... re switzerland, i know there is a big celebration on the 4th of july in geneva, organized by the local american club, including fireworks and everything, but although i had several chances through friends from the usa when i lived there in the 90's, i never attended the festivities, and cannot tell firsthand how big the party actually is. however, the area around the lac léman, including the french side, is really beautiful and ideal for road trips top down, so whenever you get the chance don't miss it... me and wifey are planning a 15-days road trip greece-italy-switzerland-germany-austria-italy-greece by end september, if i manage to get some time off from work that is. best ir-ops |

| Congrats! I did Euro Delivery on a BMW 2 years ago, and it was a spectacular and memorable experience. (Pics here if you're interested http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23492) We're also thinking about doing this on a 2009 SLK300. How did you work it out with the dealer? Are you paying ED MSRP or did you work out a $x over invoice arrangement? |

Just go to the dealer and tell them you want to do the Euro Delivery, you'll have to fill out a form, model, options, etc. It's 7% off of MSRP when I did it, not sure what it is now, should be the same.

| Great photos! My wife would have liked the Prada outlet, too. If any of you experts know of any great shopping experiences that won't over tax the small SLK trunk let me know. jc |

I loved ED. We spent waaaay more than we saved on the car on our holiday, but it was worth every penny. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
