| You can get it done but its not really a job to be done at home, its very time consuming.

I have been "shopping" for this modification for a long time (coming to 3 years). It is a real pity US SLKs don't have this option. So far, I was told the easiest approach is to add the QuickPaq accessory option which requires the drilling of my rear bumper. This should provide me 4 sensors on my rear bumper only with audio and rear visual aid. (no front) If I really want the full Parktronics, I have to replace both my bumpers with predrilled holes. Then I will get sensors for front and back, audio and visual indicators for front and back. Does this make any sense??? Many thanks in advance

| Gearhead I am sure you can contact Dan and he will provide you with the part numbers and other components so you can retrofit them in the U.S and I must say its a pitty why they dont provide this option, I know its a small car but it might be essential for a variety of reasons. If you are truly willing to get it and you are able to, then go for it as I think it is very useful in tight situations or parking spots. It came on mine from the factory since its a Euro/ROW Spec

Because of the high tail, it gets tricky when backing up. For the front, without the pointed star on the hood, it is harder to judge the front too. Hopefully Dan can confirm my questions Thanks again

| For full parktronic its a lot of work, the wiring has to go from the trunk right down all the in cabin wiring trays and out under the hood. Certainly possible but time consuming, for rear only its much simpler since everything is contained in the rear of the car.

| you can slow install a 3rd party parking system. WITHOUT drilling any holes in your current bumpers (front and rear). The system uses Electro-Magnetic parking sensors instead of typical UltraSonic sensors. Electro-Magnetic parking sensor consists of a long specialized metalic strip that actually self sticks to the Inside of your bumper and checks distances through the bumper instead of with external mounted sensors. It works in the exact same manner as the typical Ultrasonic sensors but without the holes, and completly removeable. But you will need to remove the bumpers to install the Electro-Magnetic parking sensor, just as the Ultrasonic ones. Google: Electro-Magnetic parking sensor There are a few companies that sell these units.

Thanks for the headsup. I suspect there is alot of wiring for the full parktronic retrofit. My concern is with the bumper. Is it true that in order to get full parktronics, I have to get new predrilled bumpers for the sensors? Can my existing bumper be retrofitted (just like factory) to have full parktronics? Also, for the Quickpaq accessory (which I think is available in Europe), if I install it, will it provide both audio and visual alerts or it is just audio. Many thanks in advance

I will put this in my back pocket. At this time, I am hoping to have the factory look. But if this gets to be an impossible venture, will try your recommendation. Thanks again

I don't know what the Quickpaq is, I've never heard of it before. I know that MB do a kit for a rear Parktronic install they could be calling that by some other name but i really don't know.

I may have mis-spelled the name of the kit. Believe the rear only kit is call the Quickpaq or ParkAssist ... ran into the name while reviewing the MBUK website for SLK accessories. I actually would like a full parktronics system but have been having problems trying to source the full set of new painted pre-drilled bumpers. If I can reuse my bumpers, then retro-fitting the parktronics will be much easier. This has been my dilemma. If it is not too much of a problem, is it possible to inquire whether I need new bumpers for the full parktronics or I can retrofit my existing bumpers to have the factory like parktronics? Many thanks again
