SLK navigation

Hi i have a question. Is that the slk that has the monitor is not always has a navi on it? because last time when i saw a car at the dealer. There is a monitor inside the car but they said that it doesn't have the navigation.Can i just buy the cd and it will appear at the monitor?

What you saw is just the COMMAND with the P2 package, to enable nav you would need the trunk mount nav/dvd unit. They have the nav unit for sale from time to time on ebay.

Not saying you would or should get this, but this gives you an idea what you would need:

Best to get the factory Harmon Kardon Comand system with NAV. My understanding, only the 2005 model SLKs have the necessary factory wiring harness for adding the trunk mounted DVD NAV unit to complete the NAV system. For those with 2005s, there's an eBay seller (mbenzparts) that sells the factory DVD drive will all parts for around $800.

They are both the same, just the trunk mount nav/dvd unit, the cheaper one is a used one the more expensive one is a new one. You will still have to have the COMMAND (monitor) installed as part of the P2 package (P3 would include the nav/dvd already). I thought the wiring is there already, but I could be wrong, best check with your service advisor for your model year.

Your cars going to need to be an 05 for this to work otherwise it gets complicated.

Hey guys,

I have a question about Comand Navi too
Is it possible to download Comand 2007/2008 DVD, cause I have the version I got with my car when I bought it (November 2004).
So, is it possible to download it somewhere and burn it onto DVD.
And another question is this one: If I decide to buy new version (2007/2008 Europe), will it also automatically install new software into my Comand system and disable the unlocked function to watch DVD while driving.

Let me just clarify - to do this you have to have a 2005 with COMAND (not Audio20)??

No mate it fills a DVD so i don't know of anybody hosting it.

Yes it might upload new firmware and block the menu.
