| My constant city driving from NJ through NYC to Brooklyn has finally taken its toll on my Piecha front spoiler. Thanks to all the rocks, road work, flying roadway cones (don’t ask), potholes, and idiot drivers all around me, the Piecha front spoiler is down to shredded fiberglass in various spots. This, I think, is beyond repair. I have been very upset lately with all this road damage, and even considered selling/trading in the slk for something a little less sensitive or attractive. But with all the work and hours I put into this car, it would just break my heart to let it go. So the SLK stays! Keeping in mind that my SLK has the MB sports suspension and therefore has a lowered front stance it is already a bit lower than a stock SLK. As evident in the pictures with John’s slk nose to nose. Now I am left with a few options, and I turn to you all for advice… 1 .Remove the Piecha front spoiler, and leave the stock 350 front bumper as is. Leaving max ground clearance. - $ 2. Remove the Piecha front spoiler, and replace with the SLK Launch Edition 2 front lips - $$ 3. Remove the Piecha front spoiler, and leave the stock 350 front bumper and add a Colgan Car Bra - $$ 4. Remove the Piecha front spoiler, and upgrade to an AMG bumper, or 55AMG bumper - $$$$$ 5. Remove the Piecha front spoiler, and replace it with the same one new - $$$ 6. Remove the Piecha front spoiler, and replace it with the Piecha RS-version front spoiler - $$$$ Not sure how the Bra will look, but since my car is black to begin with, i think it won't be that bad. | Keep it simple, option 1.

| I'm thinking 2 or 5. If you do 1, then the stock bumper will be taking the majority of the hits, and when that gets shredded, you'll be paying more to replace that than the Piecha spoiler. |

| I would go with 4 or 6. I honestly don't think the regular piecha spoiler looks very good, it's not aggressive enough, yet still looks bolted on. |

| Option 2 or 6 would be my choice.

| I agree with Option 1 especially if your car is a few years old. I have taken my SLK350 sport bumper off three times to have the lower section repainted at the MB dealer. They charge me about $150 and the color matches perfectly. I changed the sport suspension to standard suspension with the hope of increasing ground clearance enough to spare the bumper. The extra 10mm did not really help much. It's been 10 months since the last scrape, but, I usually only get 6 weeks of scratch free use after a repaint. If I did it again I would have gotten the standard body style and upgraded to the AMG wheels and saved a few dollars. |

| Thanks everyone for your input! I've been spending these few days thinking of my next steps and after a quick "chat" with the SLK, i have decided to add a new option! Option 7 will be to attempt to fix the piecha lip spoiler with a redesign "Noregret-Customs" style. I figured... what the heck... i have nothing to lose right! Also a big thanks goes out to Steve (Nevets) for setting my head straight: "In reality Lenny you have to ask yourself...are you going to be satisfied with the front being just stock...I don't think so, you have a passion for that car and part of that is driven by the mods and look." - Steve Thanks again Steve! So Option 1 is out! Option 3 no one liked, so Car Bra is out! Once i get the materials for the "Noregret-Customs Front lip fixeruper" I will post some pics. Just need a nice day now... |

| I agree with nevets, I doubt you can go back to the stock look, either 4, 6, or 7, I have the Colgan bra, it doesn't look good with the silver, it might work with black, I used it on the track, last time I went, I got a lot of extra paint chips, so I brought one to protect my front bumper. |

| I'll try to remember, the SLK is garaged for the winter, I'll try to take some pics this weekend, I get home late and it's dark, not a good time to take pics. |
