Understanding FSS

So let me make sure I understand the fss:

i just had a lof (lube, oil, filter) done. I had 1200 miles until service A on the fss. Service writer said i had a service A done recently so he had the tech reset fss to service C. Service c is due in 13000 miles. I have 21000 miles. i told tech when do i get a service B since the manual says service B is due at 26000 miles. He said the computer will compute that and service C might turn into Service B by itself. Not that i want to pay for a 'real' service A in 1200 miles but do not want to miss any scheduled maintenance and do not want to miss the service b that should be due in approx 4000 miles. Checked the fss myself and it says next services were service 2 (service B) and service 3 (service C). So it looks like the fss knows that service 2 (b) is up next but will the fss change from C to B? only time will tell. I know I can do the simple mainenance by myself but I shy away from brake flush, etc. And it is not a matter of the $179 for service a/c or the $300 for service B. Can I change the fss to say service B is next? read up on the fss but did not see a place to change the next service to service B. It changes it to c or a. anyone successful in changing the fss to reflect service B up next? step by step if you have. I could of course in 4000 miles say I want a service B. Thanks

I would go with what your manual says mate then after its serviced have them set the FSS to the C service and you should be OK they should never instruct it to skip a service and normally it bins these commands but sometimes they mess up the miles remaining so while it will cost more its best to give it the B service when the manual says.

Hope this helps

Off topic and just thinking out loud: but my initial impression of lof was laughing out and farted, until I read the explanation. Come to think of it that would be a funny emoticon. :biglaugh:=3. Sorry about the humor.
