I'm guessing all of this will be available in 2009 so, they just geared me up early. I think the good-will effort was outstanding on the part of MB. I suppose once they have you, the want to keep you. Anyway, the ride home in the snow wasn't bad at all. And the wife didn't buy anything while shopping... so it was win-win! First nice day, I'll do up some photos. -editor | |

| Nice one mate. I'm working one issue with the Keyless in my car at the minute and then i might have a retrofit kit ready.

| I can answer that I have driven my SLK 320 and the SLK 350 through 5 Western New York winters. I does fine with the winter tires. I have yet to have any problems, knock on wood. If anything, other people seem to have more traction problems than I do. In the summer, people go whizzing by me. In the winter, I seem to be whizzing by them. |

| Oh so many questions???? The car was purchased because she kept whining " I want a sports car". Her idea of that was a Lexus SC coupe... not mine. We started on a Ferrari F430 Spider; I have a friend who's dad handles the US Market, so it could have been possible. Ultimately decided against it for a myriad of reasons. We then moved onto the Cayman "S", great handling, no retractable roof, less power, dealer was a pretentious ass. He could have had my business. Looked at the all SL's, Power to weight ratio was my issue, wife couldn't care less. I also like a normally aspirated engine (raw power does it for me). I Loved the SLK, and creamed over the "55". I thought it was pricey but against the SC coupe not by much "Pebble Beach Edition" (What a joke). So in short, it's called "her car" but it's the third car. I'll even let my 17 year old drive it. "Respect a man's car and he'll respect you!!" Winter - I really don't want to clean it so it'll just stay in. Snow doesn't scare me... other drivers, or I should say non-drivers scare me. I had a souped up Celica GT in College in Hartford so snow's no big deal. "go with the spin" The brakes in the car hardly got a work out, it was mostly stop and go for the 18 mile hike home, but I will say the look amazing. I'll post some better close ups. Parktronic: Well in spite of you guys callin' me a big baby... the front of this monster CAN NOT BE SEEN... only judged. The back has better visibility then I recalled from my test drives, but the extra piece of mind is worth the dollar equivalent of dinner and theater for four! The cost is really a piss in the bucket... right Dan? So now... I have to find a warm hose to get the road film off the SLK and slide it back into her warm garage. I programmed the rolling code garage door buttons. For those of you (etyu) that had options questions, the car has every option available plus parktronic. The silver with the Red/Black interior is SMOKIN'!! I thought that I'd hate the carbon fiber but, it is used sparingly so it does indeed look sensational. After activating Tel-Aid, I had the concierge make sushi reservations for us last night. We took the 4x4 to that. I also wanted to take a brief moment to thank everyone here for inspired conversation, heated opinions, respectful disagreement, and amazing information. I support this forum (so should you) and I enjoy coming here daily for laughs, head scratching and the opportunity to be among "friends" who "get it"!? I have been on a lot of forums but here it just seems like a warm community where we can all agree and agree to disagree. Thank you for that!! Rob aka -editor |

| Yeah, the first few days/weeks are the best. You know, sneaking off to the garage just to enjoy it some more. Haha. Now, I take a drive to hear the exhaust. That's my new fix.

| I envy you the parktronic. Does it just detect cars front and rear or could it actually help avoid scraping the underside of the bumpers on high curbs? Is the parktronic now an option or did someone do some arm twisting to get it added? |
