| There's no reason why it wouldn't- it treats the car as a great big headset I believe. I'll verify in the next week or two as soon as I switch over to mine. |

| I can personally confirm the iPhone works via factory installed bluetooth in my 07 55. Dealer showed me how to enable/handshake the phone, and we made a phone call at the dealership via hands free in car. I'll be adding the wife's iPhone at some point. I did not hook up the iPhone to the factory iPod connector or try and use it as a music player. -Webslinger |

| It works for audio playback via the iPod connector. I don't have Bluetooth so cannot vouch for that.

| I bought my wife an iPhone and have tried to use it with the BT (version 2 / Euro) in my UK 07/SLK55 which has the MB's OEM DVD Command SATNAV system fitted. I had no probs getting the phone/command to connect BUT the 'contacts list' is not imported by COMMAND because, and I think I'm right on this point, iphone does not utilise SAP (Sim access profile) to store contact information, i.e. phone numbers etc. On the other hand, my wifes old phone - the one I now use! (Nokia E65) has no probs connecting to COMMAND via the BT and DOES exchange my 'contacts list', again because the E65 does utilise SAP. No expert by any means but hope this helps... Kenzed |

| At least in the bluetooth puck in the states, the protocol required is HFP (Hands Free Protocol) which, according to the web, the iPhone supports. I would be a little surprised if the MB States one supported HFP and the Euro one didn't. I think it is such a basic protocol it would be silly not to support it. But of course the iPhone has a lot of OTHER protocols that the iPhone doesn't support so who knows... And maybe the Euro setup is different. The other thing to be aware of is that the phone book has to be transfered EVERY Time it connects. So it could be several minutes to transfer the phone book before that icon is activated. |

| On Bluetooth, there is "profile". Each profil defines what can be the features of the bluetooth connection. -> HFP is the basic profile (Hands Free Profile). -> You can have SAP (Sim Access Profile) to exchange information from the phone SIM to the system -> also A2DP to exchange stereo music from your mobile phone to the system -> .... and so on. Currently, the HFP and A2DP are quite standard in Europe. The lastest MB system on 2008 model should have both. Here is a link of Bluetooth SiG, whith a list of Bluetooth possible profiles. http://bluetooth.com/Bluetooth/Techn...s_Overview.htm

![]() My iPhone works fine with the Comand. The address book takes a couple minutes before it appears on the screen. I didn't have to do anything for it to download the data. Recent calls also appear on the screen. When a call comes in and that number is in the iPhone address book, the screen displays the person's name instead of just the phone number. | |

| Tummy, I've just mentioned your latest response to my wife and she is delighted with this good news. We'll have to give it another try although I must say that we persisted for some time when she first got her new iPhone but it wouldn't import her phonebook/contact details. Strange?? (we'll update you after further tests!) Thanx |

| it has to transmit all that data over the bluetooth connection- not a speedy way to send a lot of contact info. |
