| Hi Folks I just changed the dipped halogen light (H7 55 W). While following the car manual, it is not as easy as I thought. Cannot reach the halogen light bulb until I had to remove the overflow tank. And the clip to the bulb.... no, it uses a diff. system with a twist. It is Ok for a mechanic with deform hands. |

| ellimb, are you talking about the low-beam headlamps? It is best to approach this from the rear through the wheel well area by removing the 2 silver colored bolts that hold the horizontal black plastic floor and two black colored bolts at the wheel well area. Turn the front wheels towards the opposite side and slowly flex/bend the rubber/plastic wheel well. You'll get better access to the fog lamps, main headlamps and to the bumper side markers (US model).

| Thanks ETYUYes it is the main light that uses halogen H7 55w bulbs. So I need to lie down on the ground, is this correct? This should be a lot of help to forum users. Thanks |

| Yes you do have to lie down on the ground to get to the 2 silver colored bolts. These are located on the horizontal black plastic engine floor panel immediately in front of the lower border of the front wheel well, just in front of the small front rubber mud guards. Pix of one of the silvered colored bolts below (at the left side of the vehicle): ![]() The one pictured is located towards the center line of the car. The other one is hidden by the small rubber mud guard towards the left side of the photo. The silver-colored bolts, IIRC, is of the 8mm size. The black bolts are located at the side of the front wheel well near the painted body panel. This will be evident when you look after turning the front wheels towards the opposite side (i.e., turn the front wheels toward the right when you're working on the left side of the vehicle). You only need to remove 2 black colored bolts, counting from the bottom of the front wheel well and going upwards. The black bolts are of the 10mm size. After removing the 4 bolts (2 silver-colored and 2 black-colored), gently insert finger between the colored front quarter panel of the car body and the black plastic/rubberized front wheel well. Insert finger in the area between the front mud guard-like structure and the colored body panel and slowly lift away. You should be able to open and flex/bend the lower 1/2 to 1/3 of the pliable plastic wheel well. Shine a nice spotlight and you should see the rear of the main headlamps and lower down, the rear of the fog lamps. Hope the above helps.

| This pix is from -1-, on the left side of vehicle, after removing the front tire, and the front wheel well cover. You'll have a similar but limited view (55% less) with the method described above. (Disregard the yellow arrows)

| if you want more pics, check this thread out on benzworld on installing HIDs...seeing as he had to remove the wheel-liner to get enough access, you can use his information on that as well: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r171...lots-pics.html And yes, its a bitch to try and change pretty much any of the lamps without taking the wheel liner unless you're plastic-man. Once the wheel-liner is off though, everything's pretty easy. also, no need to take the wheels off either, I did my install of HIDs with the wheels still on and it wasn't too bad. |

| Hey Folks My Way may be easier as mentioned in the start of this thread. BUT for the other side, where I cannot remove any thing for hand room, then I need to go from the bottom. Signed Frank Sinatra. He he he |

| Hi Folks After changing the halogen light H7 55w, I noticed the colour of the new light bulb is NOT the same as the original (the other side). The original is whiter or slight blue tint whilst the new Hellas light bulb is slightly towards orange. |

| Why struggle? I prefer removing the wheel and the front section of the wheel liner to gain access when replacing the headlight assembly bulbs. The factory HID xenon bulbs are more difficult to replace than the halogen bulbs.
