Default in the Rainy days the water is coming inside from cornes of top!

As you see in pics when you drive in rainy days the water comes inside.. I don't know what to do,,already speak with mb service ,,they told they will put a vaseline cream on the rubber parts and try to cancel it but they also told this will always happen in cabrio cars..
Does anybody have this problem or any solution..?

The roof needs to be adjusted and possibly the seals replaced.

Check the seal at the A-pillar as Dan stated. The "tab" at the rubber seal may have collapsed. TSB: Seal at A pillar collapses, P-77-30-49, 18-Jan-07

Sorry to hear about the problems. After reading about Dan's water problems a while back i was glad to see that my SLK seems water tight even when it poured down very hard on it while I was shopping.

Should be covered under warranty, mine was happening on the right side, and the MB dealer just replaced the seals, and all was good.

I had some condensation in the right mirror too when it rained, they replaced that too.

You should oil the rubber seals with the MB oil (do a search on the forum to get part number). Other more complex solution if the oiling fails to stop the water going in, is to adjust your windows. The window have an x/y/z adjustment knobs that can make a difference. I live in the tropics and it pours... I had the problem, but oiling once or twice a year makes a difference. Cheers, C.

part nos are:

A 000 989 60 60 (special sliding compound, also described as seal/mold lubricant at OEMpartsdirect.com)
A 001 989 50 51 (lubricant for seals, also described as grease at OEMPartsdirect)

Interestingly, when I called the local MB parts department and gave them the above part nos., the technician said it refers to the same thing: two part nos. for the same thing and costs about USD $37 at OEMpartsdirect.

The two part numbers mentioned above are actually different items. The part number for the first one is A 000 989 36 60, not A 000 989 60 60, or at least I could not get a match on that number. I just got a bottle of the Mold Lubricant, $37 for one ounce!

You're right SLK280DS, that was a typo mistake on my part: the correct no. is A 000 989 36 60. Cost: USD $36.64 after taxes. ($34 before taxes)

I learned from the parts department that the 2 part nos. refer to the same: Seal/mold lubricant. Read the warning label very carefully.

It reads: Caution! This product cannot be completely removed using conventional cleaning agents or solvents (or in an automatic car wash). Reliable performance cannot be guaranteed in the event of subsequent painting or bonding work. Contaminated tools (e.g., brushes, sponges, cloths, gloves) must not be used for other work, even when washed, and must therefore be disposed of separately.

If you do a search at OEMPARTSDIRECT for 0009893660 you get:
Item Number 0009893660, $36.49, MOLD LUBRICA

If you search for 0019895656 you get:
Item Number 0019895051, $35.67, GREASE

Since the price is different, they are probably different items or maybe the packaging is different?

A000 989 36 60 is the current part number for the real greasy grease that makes the roof shut up.

Both the numbers come back to the same stuff at the end of the day and both are 100% safe to use on the roof seals.

Incidentally part number A005 989 19 71 has to be applied first to make sure everything is clean and the reaction time for the grease is 20 minutes.

Thats got to be fake for one no water would run in like that unless it was totally pissing down and even then not much would get in.

And the back of the seat pad and the backrest is not sealed so it would not naturally hold water it would instead drain it onto the carpet.

I hope he's happy that he has now destroyed a very expensive seat and its electronics.

Do you know what the dealer did to correct the problem?

Probably just adjusted the roof, for 100 euro's they would not have been able to buy a new seal
