Default Window Balking Issue

Has anyone had this problem:

When closing the auto windows using the 1-touch, the windows either stop mid-way or retreat back down.

It's not a continuous issue, but it pops up from time to time and is a bit annoying and embarrassing when showing others the superb crafstmanship of the German engineering.

I searched the forum and didn't see any other posts on this, so maybe it's my issue to deal with the dealer.

Any assist is appreciated!

The windows drop out of sync a lot because they cant use the traditional method of confirmed closure.

If they stop you just need to sync them again and all will be fine.

Remember its better to have them stop and be on the safe side than to continue closing against what they think is pressure and could possibly be a finger or something.

Also think about lubricating the rubber channel (especially the triangular part at the front, just behind the outside rear view mirror area) that the window glass slides between with very small amounts of silicone spray. Also a small dab of silicone on the soft rubber seal found at the front edge of the small quarter panel window.

Mine did it today but rarely does it. I just hit the button again and all seems to be ok. Might check into the sync'ing thing.

I'll give it a try - I never heard about window syncronization before. Thanks for the feedback.

From the 2008 Owner's Manual:

The power windows must be synchronized after the battery has been disconnected
or discharged.
If the power windows cannot be fully opened (Express-open) or closed (Express-close).
Each power window must be synchronized.
Close all doors.
Switch on the ignition ( page 37).
Press and hold both switches 1 and 2 ( page 235) at the symbol until the windows are
completely closed. Hold on to switches 1 and 2 for approximately 1 second.
The power windows are synchronized.
