| Been working on her all day and decided to take a break and snap a few Corkscrew-esque piccys of the cockpit as its not normally seen by the drivers. Not anywhere near the same quality as CS can manage but it was just a quick few snaps before i got back to work. I work on these every day and it still amazes me just how much is going on behind the scenes as you drive along and i think the exposed electronics show that well.

| Some more pic's Showing the sensors for engine and tranny oil, a few shots of the body i will get some better ones when i get the tripod out. And before some smart-ass says you've got an AMG coolant pipe under there yes i know i have its one of many AMG parts still fitted in fact only a few Brabus markings are visible on the exterior of the engine but the rocker cover has to come off to be replaced with a nice clean Brabus one so i will take some shots of the innards with plenty of markings to show i actually paid for something. Oh also yep the Tstat does have paint on it i have 3 now one AMG unit, one Brabus unit and one supplied by Bill (the Brabus unit is currently fitted) so i gave them all different paint jobs to tell them apart, that triangle on the hood by the way is the location of the battery isolator. As you can see it's wearing the multi-spokes at the moment I'm open for advice on replacements, prefrably ones that can cope with a wider tire

| Those are the first pictures I've ever seen. The AMG 18" five spoke wheels are my favorites. Wish I could find that wheel in 19". Dan, why the dismantling of the interior?

| I like the wheels don't get me wrong but they are heavy and i need something lighter that will accommodate a slightly wider tire.

| Cheers Eddy mate, Will be sure to document the re-assembly, i will get some engine pics up tomorrow probably but the engine gut shots that show the changes will have to wait until i get the new car because i can't be without the SLK at the moment since Alex is using the other one.

You can see the Pwr and Gnd wiring cut in 2 places on pic 2 i will be installing a Y junction one arm going to the under-dash light and the other to the kickplate thats the same on both sides. Its just easier to strip the thing right down because you get extra space and more light flowing into the hidden areas.

| Nice pictures Dan, I am wondering though are you nocturnal or an insomniac? I'm just going on the time of your post and the late night pictures ![]() In regard to the wheels I'm sure a man with your connections could lay your hands on some 19" multispoke from a Black Series? I know they'll be a bitch to clean but considering where you work that ain't going to be a problem! "Right so you've decided to piss me off today annoying apprentice technician? Go and get your toothbrush and I want to see my face in those wheels ![]() ![]() |
