Default Airscarf and Service B

This will not be a long thread. I just have a simple question re Service B. Here goes:

Does Service B include an Airscarf check and/or adjustment?

Although I always loved my Airscarf, I was a little disappointed with the fact that it needed to be on level III to be efficient. On I and II, it was not even noticeable. Last night, for the first time since my Service B last month, I used the Airscarf and I was impressed with the strength of the air stream and the intensity of the heat generated. I almost got blisters on my neck! Wow! They must have done something to it (and I am delighted they did). I meant to tell the service guy to adjust it last month and I forgot. So, if any adjusting was done, I suppose it was part of Service B. Is it possible my Airscarf has been checked and "improved" or is it just my imagination?

Airscarf??? Do you have winter temperatures in Canada???

They probably just removed two dozen spiders and a couple of mice nests......

They do a function check of the main systems and if the tech did not like how the scarf was working then it would have been adjusted not that much can be done to it just cleaned out really.

Also it could have had a fault that was shown on the SDS and fixed.

Zut, I'm glad that your airscarf is working better now. I never use mine on position three as it is so powerful that I could bake bread on my shoulders.

Default Level III

I use Level III on cold mornings in the winter to blow dry my wet hair after showering before leaving for work.

I think your Airscarf must have been malfunctioning all along. Level III is way to hot for routine use.

I don't think my level III is so hot my neck will turn into brisket but it is significantly hotter than it used to be. I need all the heat I can get for I love to drive with the top down all year round (last year, I did it in December and January). I wish my Airscarf fan were a little more powerful, though. Not hairdryer strength but, you know, it could use a little more push so the outside airflow doesn't overpower the effect of the Airscarf, as it often does.

I start out at level III to warm it up, I don't keep it on the 3rd setting, it's too hot. Glad to hear that you have this fixed.

As a matter of fact, I am not even sure it has been fixed to be perfectly honest! I shall ask my service guy next week. What DansSlk wrote makes a lot of sense. However, I don't understand why nothing was mentioned on my invoice.

Maybe they changed the position of the head-rest. I find that if it is raised then the air-scarf is not as effective.

You are right about that but I did move the head-rest in all possible positions last year and it did not help. I also thought they reoriented the louvers but I don't think it can be done.

I think it depends on the dealers some write everything they do down others just note that it was in for service work.

If it was showing a fault code then that would have been sorted as part of the service, it could also be software in the control unit that would have been flashed with the latest version and it could have increased the temp for mode 3.

Or dare i say it your imagination?
