| Here is a funny story for you. This happened the very first day I drove my SLK 230 (R170) home from the dealership... It was a beautiful august day, so the top was down. Just picked up my black on black R170 and boy was she a beaut! I was stopped at a red light and I started to hear a ticking noise. I first thought it was coming from my engine. I turned the radio off, and I heard the ticking noise louder. Now im starting to panic because I just picked up the car and there is something wrong with it already?! As I listened closer, I realized that it wasnt coming from the car. I looked to my right and there was a bus in the next lane. I then looked up and it turns out there was a really really cute couple of girls tapping on the window to get my attention. They signaled me to pull over and of course i did at the next bus stop. Long story short, I got some phone numbers... I thought to myself, wow this was on the first day!! Boy is it going to be a fun ride And now im on my 2nd SLK, R171 - can you blame me??!! | haha that's a good one! ![]() And yes, I'm always receiving compliments from girls especially when the top is down. Two days ago 2 girls actually stuck their heads out the window of their car while going 75-80mph on the lane next to me to yell out "I LIKE YOUR CAR!!" |

| Man I remember when I got my car. It drew the most attention I think I have ever seen over a car at the office were I work. 1100 people there. I would walk by people I didn't even know and they would stop me and go, hey isn't that your mercedes. |

| Sunday night, leaving Pearl Jam behind at Lalopaloza after a great weekend of music, I had the top down and music blazing. While stopped at an intersection in downtown Chicago among other concert goers, 3 young, festive, and fetching young women began dancing on the sidewalk to my music. I decided to swing aroung the block and entertain some more ladies before heading home |

| great story, that's what you will expect and more. Here's my story, drove in downtown denver and this really tall slim athletic black guy with tight shorts and a half tight muscle shirt walking a poodle, (I'm serious I couldn't make this up), a very stereotyical Village people type of gay person. I was stopped at a red light, and he shouted, "hey, nice car, mind if I take a ride," I smirked and told him I was busy and had to go. . He winked and I took off, I think MB under estimated their 0-60mph times. But it does attract a lot of attention, I took it once to pick up my sis in law at a club, I parked right in front of the main entrance, I had a few hot chicks asked if the passenger seat was occupied. I took it another time and park in the valent and I watched from the balcony of the club, people were touching and trying to look inside the car, many finger prints when I looked at it after the club closed. I stopped taking it out, too much attention.

| Q: Is this what I should expect? A: YES! It's amazing how many compliments, smiles, head-turns, envious long stares, and yes, pretty girls smiling at me when I drive my SLK350. I was parked at a traffic light and as the pedestrians were crossing, one guy stopped in his tracks, looked at my car and said, "Daaaayyyyummm!". I've never seen a Porsche or BMW get that kind of reaction. |

| I used the 280 to pick up my son at UCLA one evening, and one gorgeous-looking intelligent college lass passed by, looked at me and waved. I gave out a big smile and waved back. So, same here, the answer is YES.

| For all you people that only just smiled or waved or whatever to all those beautiful ladies, you do know that the slk bonnet is quite a large one and can be utilised admirably for various maneuvers??? |
