| Installed Air Filters today for SLK 350 Hello All, I have been reading the threads on replacing air filters on this and other forums. The 2005 maintenance manual states that air filters are replaced at 60000 miles. I did not think that waiting that long was prudent so I went in search of replacement filters besides those that would be available from MB. The issue is that those replacing oem air filters drive SLK55s/AMGs and I have a 350. I have noted that K & N and Green filters are only made for the SLK 55 (either that or I have not found them). I went to (pm for web site) and noted that he had SLK 350 sport filters. They are 39 euros apiece (you need 2), plus shipping. So I took the plunge and ordered them and they arrived today. Thanks to slkfromlokey for the helpful picture in removing the filter cover: If picture not displayed below, here it is in his thread: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r171...t=green+filter the thread from ynot with link to euroteck was helpful in removing torx screws: http://www.euroteckmotorsports.com/i...owse&pageid=84 You would not believe all the sand that was in the holders for the filters. I know I live in Florida but you would have thought I lived ON the beach. Anyway, I highly recommend that you at least inspect your air filters and at a minimum vacuum out the crap. Take care!

| Oh Yes! thanks for asking. Since I have been reading the other threads reference green and K & N filters, alroumi mentioned a sound and he stated 'In which you hear the Airinduction sound its like this "Chcuuk" Its the sound of air entering'. but he has a 55amg. So I was waiting to hear and feel a difference and boy did I. Of course it could have been the original sound minus all the sand and crap that was in the holders for the oem filters (see original entry above) that I had not heard since day 1. The acceleration was noticably quicker and the sound was definately throatier.

| Are eurotek the only place to buy these. I see them at $129. I know mine are going to need replacing after living on the dust planes.

I just got a reply from our AMG Account Manager and they are really keeping this under wraps he said that engine and transmission upgrades will not be sold separately but i will check the EPC versions as they turn up because i would imagine the filters would be classed consumable so you should not need a VIN to buy them

| I'm guessing Brand:mann = manufacture? they qoute part B1001-135243 yet Mercedes Benz SLK55 Air Filter Set also fits these models: Make Model Year Model Info Engine Part Details Mercedes Benz C 240 4-Matic 2003 - 2005 203.081 112.916 1 Set of Two Filters Mercedes Benz C 320 Wagon 2002 - 2005 203.264 112.946 1 Set of Two Filters Mercedes Benz C 320 4-Matic 2003 - 2005 203.084 112.953 1 Set of Two Filters Mercedes Benz E 320 Sedan 2003 - 2005 211.065 112.949 1 Set of Two Filters Mercedes Benz SL 500 2003 - 2006 230.475 113.963 1 Set of Two Filters Does this mean I can buy green filters for one of those models and it'll fit in my 55?

| easty > Merc have different parts numbers of the air filters on many of those engines so i would not recommend trying the 112 filters on the 113 as there must be different PN's for a reason but i see no problem using the SL filters on the SLK or for that matter any 113 engine filters on it as they should be identical the C55 would be your best bet but they could be the same price anyways i am not sure how that works. jbanks15 > thanks mate will do easty > i must have been typing mine while you where posting also i am not sure of the green filters PN for the SLK sorry mate but the SL one should be OK

| They seem about the same size at stock would make a good direct replacement if the OEMS ones where in need of replacing but i don't know if they would work quite as good as the green filters as they are thinner and should allow more air past. What do you think mate?

| I agree with Dan, They seem to be paper air filters not much different from stock. I just wish there were Green filters or K&N for the 350 ![]()

| noregretforlife/et al when my sport filters came from germany, they look alot like the K & N filters do. smaller than oem in height but same reddish color. they also have i believe k & n listed on their website. i would tell you the site but i understand this site has a rule about advertising. so pm me if you wish but a clue would be it is one of the 2 sites that sold the vario roof module. fyi they sell for the slk55amg also. same price i believe

| Guys, one thing that concerns me about aftermarket filters is that our 02 sensors are extremely sensitive. If the air is "dirtier" that will not be good for the 02 sensor. Considering the ECU's look to the 02 sensor so much ... it might not be a good idea? |
