| I know that v5.3 is out in the US. Which version is the latest for Europe and when did it come out? My dealer gave me a v5.1 DVD after swapping out an incorrectly inserted v6.1 which is only for NTG-2 comand systems (SLK is a NGT-1 system) |

| Hey Dan, Would you be able to pull a few files off your dvd for me? Little while back i was trying to mod the Nav DVD to customize the Voices used. Been trying to get the "Brit Chick" to give me my directions ![]() Problem was, after you change it, and turn off the car, it resets back to US default. With the older 2005 DVD, a member of another forum was actually able to do this mod, and keep it working. I tried the same steps on the 2006.1 with no luck I may start looking into this again, perhaps i had the voice files off your DVD, i may have a better clue how to mod the US one, or perhaps someone else out there with more knowledge can look into it. |

| Thats cool then... There will only be a few files on the disk. I'm at work, and do not have the exact file names. But you will see there are 3-4 files about 4-7mb each. Those are the ones. The large one contains the actual map data... sadly it is about 2gigs on the US version. Goes to show you how "Indepth" our maps are. Other 3rd party nav systems are running 10gigs for map data. |

In the nav menu (one where it says enter destination, memory... so on) Press and HOLD the #5 button on the right, and the NAV button at the same time. In 4 sec or so, you will enter the NAV backdoor menu. Scroll down to Language, and select one you like. you can hit the RPT button while in that menu still to hear it say "Navigation is not active" Enjoy! There is also a PDF out there, don't have the link available, but if you search the forums you can find it, if you come up empty, PM me, and i will email it to you. | |

| I had a Garmin that gave different voice options. Neat at first, but after a while, a voice is a voice.
