Default K&N Filters vs Green Filters (SLKStore)

Looking to upgrade my filters with one of these two. Is there a difference in the two filters- pros and cons? K&N/s website states that replacing the OEM filters with theirs (part no 33-2859) will not void the car's warranty. How so? Thanks.

There's not much difference but I would get the green's here just to support the site, no it should not void warranty, but if you are afraid that it does, just remove it and put the old ones back before taking it in for service. I've used K&N for over a decade and had never took it out, just tell the service people I have K&N and they just leave it alone. No problems so far.

Get the Green Filters. Doubt there's much difference between the two. They both say it won't void your warranty. They appear to be real good quality, make the O.E.M. paper ones look like junk. Install is a snap. I'm convinced my 350 has a slightly throatier sound. Don't know if my gas mileage has gone up, but it supposed to add a couple of miles to a gallon. Another bonus.

It all depends on your car, mine took close to 3 weeks before I notice the 2mpg fuel consumption. The green filters pays for itself in a few fillups.

I just ordered the green filters for my SLK 280. I track my gas mileage using a spreadsheet since I first bought the car, so I should be able to tell if the new filters give better gas mileage or not. I'll post my results after a few months.

Your results will be interesting. Considering you've tracked your mileage since new, your figures should be very accurate. Keep us posted on the results.

I would have taken the green filters to support this site, but I had the K&N already.
