| This was the first time I have ordered something off of ebay, or anywhere else for that matter, that was not located in the US. I got it from the same guy that others on here have experience with, I believe MF-Schaffer is the ebay ID. $425USD and it got here in 4 or 5 business days. I could not be happier with the service. I mean you pay, and poof it is here. Haven't had much experience with it, but the quality is top notch and something I had not seen here, or just over looked it, was that it comes with a case when not in use. Fit is good, installs/uninstalls in about 45 seconds. I say get it from him if you are looking for one. Came in the original MB box. |

| Awesome, was it orginally from MB with part number on it? $425 is a pretty good deal consider MB dealer sells it for $600 something. I am also getting one soon, but i can't decide which one to get. Should I go for the OEM one or the after market with LED anf Engraving on it? http://formymercedes.com/mb_results....ory=Windscreen |

| Have had mine for well over a year. Definitely cuts down on wind and noise. Enhances cold-weather-top-down warming capacity. Looks sharp and has held up very well. |

| I haven't had a chance to drive it much yet. I am going to drive to work top down in the morning at 75-80mph and we will see if my hair is messed up like it is without the windscreen. That's what I call real world testing. Came in the original MB box with part numbers and all. Looked like it might have been opened to make sure the contents were all there but everything looked packed like it would have been from the dealer. Total to my door was $423.23. Bottom line, looks great, fits great, uninstalls in seconds, and maybe it works great which it sounds like it does. I sure don't know if I could fork up $600 bucks for it though, but each to his own. Some people have way way more money than I do, and the dealer is convienent. |

Only if the roll bars are shaped the same as the OEM, otherwise I doubt if it'll have a snug fit and probably won't look right with the black plastic on chrome.

| once you install the oem windscreen, you will never remove it except to clean it and treat the surrounding areas with any cleaner you normally use on the rollbars and rear deck area.

| Thank you all of your advises, and I think I will go for the OEM one as watson said...... the simpler, the better. I might try the one from ebay. Vitamin T, can you make sure the name is correct, MF-Schaffer, cause i'm not able to search for this user on ebay, thanks. |

| It sounds completely insane to pay that kind of money for 20 bucks worth of plastic that you could have fabricated at the local Tap Plastics (tapplastics.com) store 10 minutes from my house. Heck, if I had one for a template I bet I could get a dozen made for 100 bucks. I'm not commenting about others that have purchased one, and truth be told, I'd probably buy one, but having a mechanical fabrication background, it really gets me fired up to pay $erious money for something so simple. *shrug* |

| Elite SLK World Member | If you examine the OEM wind blocker, you'll see that it is far more complex than just a piece of plastic. The cheap varieties are basically a piece of plastic with a mounting. I had one and I returned it and bought the OEM one. $57,000 for my car and I'm not skimping on accessory or service costs. |

Assuming you intend to keep the car for more than a year or so then the additional cost of this type of spec Vs the RV of the the car is moot. | |

| Sorry I spelled the sellers name incorrectly. The correct name is mb-schaefer . I have to agree that at dealer pricing of about $600USD is is pretty out there. To be honest i would not have bought one if I couldn't have found one for cheaper. I think it SHOULD cost about $200, it is about $400 on ebay and $600 is pretty rediclious. But, I guess MB's thought is that people willing to pay big $ for their cars are willing to pay big $ for their accessories. After seeing its fit and function I will say it is nice to have. Fits on there good, and today on the way home with the top up was unnoticable. I will probably leave it in most of the time. Anyway it works pretty well. It did not seem to help the wind that hits the top of my hair but I am 6' 2" so shorter people might not have that problem. I know the one cool weekend we have had since I got the car (pre windscreen), if I could scoot down in the seat about 4" I couldn't feel it. The windscreen did all but do away with the turbulance and side to side buffeting in the center of the cabin, just still get a tad over the top of the windshield at 70+ mph. All and all, pretty damn good for no wind with the top down. |

| I guess I had a poor understanding of how the factory one looked. I remember seeing one on an SLK and thought it looked pretty simple. I *assumed* the one I saw was the factory piece. Now that I've seen the real deal MB version I'd have to agree it's a far better looking one than what I had seen previously and would consider getting one. I'm paying over 400 bucks for a CD changer I'm having removed and will never going to use, I guess I can spring for the real deal wind break now that I've seen it. I stand corrected. |
