| Hi, Wondering if some of you could help me get a clearer idea of something. When i have been browsing about different forums i hear a lot about EU COMAND's being fitted is there some particular reason why you folks with US units / US cars pick the EU unit? Thanks in advance, Dan

| isn't because the EU units are capable of playing video? in the US, our systems don't even have the 'video' button, instead we get sirius. |

| I just thought that there might be something else to it since changing to a EU COMAND will stop your sat radio from working and all you gain is the video.

| I want the video, so i can hook it up to my computer without an external monitor! Also, run aftermarket navi through the COMAND screen. I think Sirius reception is too spotty, and the price is too high. |

| I think you would need the tuner for that mate. There is no way to connect any devices to the COMAND itself

| I heard you can install the E class tuner into the euro SLK COMAND for video input? On the US version, there's no way to add video. |

| Yeah thats correct mate. Sorry i thought you meant you would hook right up to the headunit itself. You would have no prob using the E Tuner with the AUX in

| I've been interested in switching because the US version doesn't have RDS and here in Germany, RDS is a very nice thing to have, not only for seeing info but for automatically switching freqs as signal is lost. |

| It's just been one of those get around to it things really. To make it easier to blow off, I don't like any of my local dealers and haven't taken the time to really search one out. Most around here don't even know the difference between the US and German spec models. Very frustrating when I have to tell them that they are trying to give me the wrong part. |
