Default Green Filters, Where?

Does anyone know where I can buy the Green Filters for an SLK 350? The SLK World store says that they are out of stock.

Is it starting a holy war to ask if the green filter really makes a performance difference and how it compares to the K & N filter?

I've heard so much positive regarding the green filters, I plan to order once they're restocked at the SLK Store.

Bill T, I'll wait until the SLK World store has them in stock. I prefer to buy them there to help support this forum.

Same for me : i would like to support this forum also, and i will wait. It seems that the mpg is better with this filter.

Should i remove them (and put OEM part) before any maintenance stop to my dealer (to avoid any warranty problem) ?

no, warranty from your dealer should not be a problem. it would take one major strict and unfair bastard to void your warranty for them. I have never had a problem with aftermarket filters in the past

Youll get no problem with the warranty, you just have to tell them not to remove it with the service.

They will never know mate.

If its in for a service and they are going to replace the filters just tell them that you have already done it you will be fine

I too would like to order the green filters. However, I'm not an engineer and would really appreciate it if someone could post a very detailed, illustrated diagram of how to replace the filters in an SLK 350. It would be great if we could add it as a sticky or even a downloadable PDF file. My car is only a few weeks old, so I'm still treating it with kid gloves, and would hate to f**k it up. Would it make more sense to replace the filter after my 6K mile service?

You should be OK buddy as i said they never even see the filters anyways just tell them never open your airbox.

The only time they would even think about doing it is when the car goes in for a service and if you tell them you are using a compatible filter that must not be replaced or even accessed under any circumstances because it could be damaged or something like that then if they do open it you can give 'em hell about it.

I don't mind supporting the site by making a Green purchase either, I was just curious about them.

Good thing they are out of stock because how sad would it be for me to have the filter and no car yet!

P.S. - Gooooo AAPL!

In a SLK350, I've noticed better throttle response (questionable). The incontestable fact is that it gives 2-3 extra mpg off the bat. It'll give a slightly more aggressive tone on the exhaust note. Honestly, the 2-3 mpg pays for itself in about 3 months.

It was opened to help support the site but if it it's costly to have it opened then we'll have to do whatever it takes to minimized cost.
