Two more sleeps...

First I got an email just before lunch from the dealership saying the transport company advised them that my '07 SLK 350 would be there tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest.

I replied that the earliest I could pick it up would be Friday and for them to call me. This afternoon I got the callback - the transport truck just pulled in with my SLK on board - and I can pick it up Wednesday morning.

I'm pumped! I even cleaned up the garage tonight. It's a Canadian spec'd SLK 350 loaded with the exception that I didn't go for the AMG Sport package. No mods planned either at this time - maybe the odd minor cosmetic thingy. Oh, the color is Iridium Silver with red leather interior. Got some Zano too for that first prep!

Now that I have it I'm sure I'll be posting more.

Welcome Iris (Craig). Congratulations!! I have a feeling that either you can't sleep well because of all the excitement or you'd sleep very well with a big grin on your face.

Nice color combination. Do post some pix. Stealth and functional mods recommended: Green air filters and SmartTop roof module.

Craig, Welcome to the forum. Advice, call the dealer and have them give you the odometer reading now. Tell them that you expect it to be the same when you pick it up. Two days of temptation for a salesman or service tech to take it for a ride. That did happen to one member last year.

Congrats Craig and welcome to the forum, I think Ynot and Norgret4life are the experts on the 350's as they have extensively modified them.

I would start with airfilters too.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

On day two and absolutely loving it. Yesterday, was a fun exciting day to say the least. Although there's a local MB dealership, the one that ended up treating me well was 2 1/2 hours away. So despite the extra effort on my part to purchase the SLK through them I'm a big believer in doing business with those that I share a mutual respect for.

8:00 AM - Hopped on a small plane to fly me to my SLK
8:45 AM - As we're landing I can see my rep lowering the top!
8:50 AM - We're drivin' to the dealership -

me of course
9:05 AM - Arrive at the dealership began paperwork.
9:30 AM - Meet business manager - she's sweet

10:00 AM - Purchase every thing she suggested - NOT!!!
10:05 AM - Off to get insurance, etc.
11:00 AM - Tunes on (Engine) and "Rolling down the highway"
1:30 PM - back home
2:00 PM - Meet with clients - gotta make a livin'
4:00 PM - Tee off - round of golf with friends braggin'

What a day! I don't think I quit smilin' one minute.

And now you will become a victim of SSS. Stupid smile syndrome. After a drive in your car you will often wind up with a big silly grin. It's wonderful. I still have outbreaks of SSS after 2 1/2 years of owning my SLK 350.

How in the wurld did I miss this chance for another post??? Welcome,,,Iris. Piturs are a must here, even if your car luuks like evry other car. Dangdest folks I ever seen about piturs, youd think they jus invinted the dang kamera. We have a blast here, guud folks, good help and plenty if lies and bull. You kan tell these guys anythin an they will take it hook, line and sinker. They actually beleved me when I said I waz old an fat an a redneck, them peepl ar so eazy. Im waitin to post a pitur of me cause everone will be so shocked who I reely are tha will die...
