| Hey guys and gals, Not sure if this will be of any help but just wanted to say Black Series (Code P98) parts are now available. Have checked the basic parts so far and it looks good. If you want any more info give me a shout.

| Thanks for the heads up Dan - one quick question if I may and that is have you been able to determine what the engine difference(s) are that bump hp up to 400?

| Well this is kind of interesting i was planning on running a black series VIN earlier on today and looking at the engine numbers because for the SLK55 option that contains the P98 parts the engine's are identical. If this is the case then the black series engine mods (internal) are a marketing exercise so far both engines appear to be of the type 113.989 E55 EVO the standard engine for the SLK right from the start. I will run a VIN later on and see what it comes back with.

| Hhmmm, interesting...maybe the difference (if any) then is to be found in the specific Black series computer tune, and/or exhaust maybe?

| I would expect it to be just different software. Besides, this engine is already weakened a lot in order to be used in the SLK (and CLK). In other classes it's output varies between 476PS (E55AMG, CLS55AMG, G55AMG ), to 500PS (SL55AMG, CL55AMG)! . |

| Gotta be the exhaust. Its running either the stock or 030 computer.

| this engine is physically quite different from the E55 and sl 55 motors, as it doesn't have a supercharger and the exhaust is entirely different. |

| Yeah thats true its the SLK variant we are talking about here the 113.989 E55 EVO to be exact. Whats interesting is the engine in the 55 and the engine in the Black are identical and since both the 030 and standard 55 ECU's are all that's listed that just gives you the exhaust

| So does that mean I can get the front fenders for mine? Think I can persuade AMG to put them on when the car is built? |

| AMG wont fit them but you can get them aftermarket since they are just plastic with only a small bit of CF the cost is quite low

| No internal engine parts because there are not any special ones the headers are available but need a VIN to go ahead with the order and i don't want to use my demo VIN just in case they spot it in the order. suspension is available yeah

| so Dan, if i understand you right, we can order the headers for our cars. if i am correct here, do you know what effect it would have on the factory warranty? would installation of the headers require any other modifications? |
