Default Brabus and Mercedes Warranty

I would really like to get some added performance someday without going overboard. So according to my dealer parts dept. I am told modifications installed by Brabus will not void my warranty. Supposedly Brabus has their own warranty and if it goes beyond theirs Mercedes warranty takes over. Not the case for anyone else. Can anyone confirm this? I have not asked Brabus yet.

I promise: with Brabus you´ll need a very good warranty! Don´t forget to read the small on the back of the insurance contract.

With a modification, either ECU, gear box, clatch or header etc.. you are losing the Mercedes warranty. Instead of this the tuner have their own warranty, safeguarded by insurances. But insurances are world wide the same thi....

True thats why the Benz dealer telling me over here to do the B55 or B6.1S on my SLK55 I told him I will do it my way with some cheaper parts eg
Digi-Tec ecu upgrade, Green filters, SuperSprint X pipe and Kleemann catalytics 200cell.

On my car the Brabus 6.1 S mod made the MB warranty on the engine and its auxiliaries useless but then you have the Brabus warranty that covers everything that MB have voided it on.

Only thing is it does not last as long as the MB version its only 2 year if memory serves me correct not sure about the mileage at the moment i will have to check my paperwork.

MB and Brabus do have a much closer working relationship than the other MB tuners have so this does mean if you walk into a dealer and tell them your car has been given the once over by the Bottrop boys your much less likely to be shown the door as the techs are able to use in-house info on the mods and if need be contact Brabus to discuss any issues the car may be having just like it was with AMG before they where brought out and like it is with McLaren at the moment.

I feel way more confident knowing the vital parts that have been replaced in my car come from Brabus they have a huge reputation to protect and over here an actual classification as a car manufacturer so you know they are not going to mess you around or supply questionable parts.

And Matt Harold from Brabus USA is every bit as helpful as B55 makes out the guy is a miracle worker so i would recommend getting a hold of him and talking it over.
