Yesterday got in my car and noticed the steering wheel has stopped moving into memorised position when key inserted. Take the key out and the wheel moves up(easy entry) put key back in it does not move down have to use memory button then it returns to correct place.
Anyone else had a similar problem and does anyone know a fix. I always seem to get weird problems with cars.
Im loathe to do a battery reset because when I changed battery for a new one I lost my air con and had to have the thermatronic climate control turned back on cost me £40
Hi Dave, just checked mine and all is working ok. The driver's door has to be closed though when you insert the key or the wheel does not move down. You don't have to be in the car either. I tried in the car and through the open window. Door closed, key in, moves down.
Previous reply may set you on the root of the problem. Does the system somehow thinks the door is still open? I.e. look at the contact switch of the door. For real CAN checking you would need a DAS system though.
Yeah just went out and tested it again shut the door before I put the key in and it worked ill have to see how it goes. Im sure that before I use to put the key in before I shut the door and it worked but now I know I can test it more thanks for the help guys.
Hi Jeff, didn't have time to thumb through de owner's manual this morning, just a spare minute with the practical test. Been out bike riding all day wid de missus. Maybe you should take a day off too! Oh and by the way, is it possible to give oneself a like or a thank you?:burnout:
Hi Dave, the seat doesn't move. MB deleted that option from the convenience selection. I believe there were claims against them for damage to stuff stashed behind the seats and maybe personal injury. So don't worry about that. If you really want it I believe it can be re-instated with a software tweak. However that would mean another visit to be hooked up to the machine ... ! Unless you know someone who has there own software on a laptop.
I'll happily have a look if needed ... you'll need to head up to Notts though...!
