| I have just completed 500 miles (keeping below 4000 rpm )on a new SLK 350, and find the exhaust too quiet.(roof up) Some of the threads here suggest that as i run it in the exhaust will become louder Not really tried it with roof off, as weather in the UK , not good enough If i can not get a louder exhaust note, might consider fitting a 4 branch sports exhaust to my SLK 350.(can this be done) I live in the UK and would be interested as to cost of supply fiitting, etc and would i have to modify rear apron ? Would AMG, Brabus etc be suitable ? Has anybody else in the UK modified from standard twin pipes to 4 branch sports ? Any comments ? |

| Check with Noregret4life as he had the 350 and had the quad exhausts installed recently.

| It is indeed a little too quiet with top up, with top down and under a tunnel, you can hear it rumble, I just purchased a supersprint quad tip exhaust and it's suppose to be a little louder than stock, I'll post vid and sound clip as soon as I get it installed. If you go for the quad tips, you will have to cut the rear bumper to fit. saslk from benzworld has the AMG exhaust installed, nogret4life has the peicha quad exhaust, carlsson, supersprint, and brabus also makes exhaust for the 350. I've heard from many people driving next to me that the OEM exhaust sounds pretty good, some thought I have an aftermarket exhaust.

| yeaa i think the 350 exhaust is a bit quiet for myself but it has very nice rumbles i think. I want to get the supersprint quad tip too, but i would like to wait to hear it first, so i am waiting for Ynot's exhuast sound video! thanks ppl told me when we were flooring it together, it gets pretty loud but i think tha'ts the engine sounds not the exhuast, still cool tho |

| i would go for an exhaust, definately as aesthetically it looks alot better IMO and also sounds better. i buoght the piecha exhaust but still haven't had the time to fit it. should be this thursday all going well so i will post pics once it's on. you will need to trim your back bumper slightly, but only slightly. there are many options available. carlsson, brabus, ART, Kleeman, piecha, sebring, supersprint. it's down to personal choice and price really. |

| an exhaust is what the SLK needs, all of them ranging from the 200K,280,350 and 55; I have driven them all and they need to sound brutal at idle and when you start them. Would like to have a burble when it starts. I would check the ehxausts before purchasing one, I drove a Brabus SLK350 with ecu programming and Exhaust's sounded perfect when you start it and when you drive fast it doesnt rasp or drones.

| If you like the stock look (and I love the way the factory mufflers look on the 350) you can always drill speed holes into the muffler casing. That will increase the sound output of the car w/o changing the visuals. and yes, I'm joking. Or am I? |

| dont think you are in the minority, i would say majority. just seems to be people on here like to customise theirs slightly. i modified because i like to be slightly unique and have a different look to the norm. but i think everyone agress that a standard slk would suffice as they are beautiful as standard anyway. |

| i was next to and just behind a 350 (in my truck) a few weeks. when the traffic signal turned green he stepped on the gas pretty hard and i thought the exhaust (which looked stock) sounded great. horsepower makes noise and the 350 sure doesn't lack horsepower! |

| We have had 2 snows this year in Buffalo. One in October that was extremely wet and heavy doing immeasurable damage to many trees. Now we have finally had another one. Weather has been in the 40's or 50's most of the time. I state all this because it will probably never happen again |
