Default Winter topless driving

Today (December 14th) I have driven my SLK with the hood down in beautiful downtown Montréal. What a delightful experience! The Airscarf worked splendidly. What heater setting should one use for maximum Airscarf efficiency? So far, I had used the Auto setting but tonight I tried the defogger and it felt better for some reason. What setting has worked best for you?

Below 40 degrees F, airscarf on three, seat heaters on three, heater on auto, windows up. Point the vents toward the steering wheel. A perfect recipe for topless nirvana.

I never thought of reorienting the vents. Good tip! Thanks!

I drove here in Kuwait 11-13 degrees weather, I swear even with the heating seats on and airscarf, I was shiverring.

I know what you mean. For some reason, I find relatively cool summer nights (±15ºC) cooler than relatively warm winter days (±10ºC). Go figure! I am sure this is simply due to the fact that we wear warmer clothes in the winter. I can imagine that you guys in Kuwait wear lighter clothes in 11º-13ºC weather than us in the same kind of temperatures.

It also helps to wear a light winter jacket. A cap of some type will keep you from getting quite so cold if you need it. Although IMHO, the cold makes it a more vibrant experience. After working outside in 20 degree weather last winter with 20 - 40 mph winds, driving in 32 F weather was nothing.

I totally agree. Last winter, I went on a 300 km trip with the hood down (it was 0°C) and I had a great time. I would love to drive my SLK in extreme temperatures (-30°C or -40°C) but due to global warming we have relatively mild winters now! Whenever we have one of our occasional Siberian cold spells, I shall drive with the hood down and take some piccies!

Works great but be careful not to get arrested for (what
only looks, not feels, like) indecent exposure
