Default Some Mars Red SLK350 on Brick Pics....

Well, I promised to take pics of the car when it was clean, but I was a bit too early for magic time, and the bush played hell. Well, I wanted to get my new brick driveway in.

I used red and charcoal blend bricks for the inside parts of the design, so the people I rent rooms too won't have their oil drips be so noticeable. ;-) Always planning ahead.

It's a diamond pattern with the lines made up of solid red, and 5 point highlights and exterior border of charcoal. Should look better when house is painted dark sage green (and wall).

My brake calipers are DIRTY!

Tried the front one being on other side of car from sun, interesting highlight.

Yes, I take my plexiglass windscreen out when it's just me, I like the wind!

I think I want to take the between the exhausts skirt off. It's ruining the clean lines the side of the car has.

Stupid camera dumped the pics of the interior because batteries were running out.

Ah well, I'll just take more after the brick is cleaned and the "natural" (no shine) coating is put on.

Anyone else got pics on bricks?

I can get some pics on bricks, i have a VERY large brick patio/walkway etc. Anyway, that rear diffuser i believe is NOT stock, along with your rear trunk spoiler. Did you put those on or do you have the amg package? It didnt seem so on the pic of the front of your car tho. Just wondering, cuz that would be weird if you got the ar like that.

Lucky you, as least it's warm enough to wash your car, it's been around 50F here and gets dark before 5pm, I haven't wash my SLK in over a month, it still looks clean until you are right next to it. Mars red is stunning when cleaned.

Beautiful brick driveway and very nice Mars Red SLK!

I have to agree that the skirt between the two exhausts does spoil the clean lines, but it is a personal decision/taste.

Those spoiler lips (two smaller ones at the front and the long one at the back between the exhausts) were available at my dealer's as an accessory

Nice pics btw

RacerCub68, I agree. The between the exhaust skirt does look out of place. I think the rear would look better without it.

They (front & rear) were standard on the 2005 SLK Launch Edition. They provide a different look. The front pieces look OK from the side, but look out of place from the front. I would imagine the front pieces are almost impossible to keep from getting scrapped or torn off. The rear looks OK. I prefer the rear bumper look of the AMG 350s and SLK 55s. Those pieces are expensive.

It doesn't snow in Miami Beach, where I live. Come down, swim in my pool (I think it's at 89 and play some golf at the 2 courses I live between.

This is now the Paradise time, up until May, it will be perfect top down weather almost every day. Sommer hung on a bit long this time, making it hot through October.

I liked the "insolent" look of the AMG rear spoiler, so I ordered it seperately to put on my 2005. The spoiler came after the car was ruined, so they held onto it and put it on my 2006.

The AMG package is the ONLY option I did not get (well besides Automatic, I prefer stick.) I just do not like the look of the 5 point rims on the Red. Especially fell out of love with 5 points on my red 1/18th scale SLK. They look good on the Orion blue and on the silver, but the red looks better with multi-spoke, in my opinion. Also, I like the cleaner look of the side. I tend to enjoy the car looking slower then it is. ;-)

Since every pic I took of my 2005 made the silver exhaust stick out (see the best example of me trying to not get mufflers at http://www.slkusa.com/ ) I ordered the "rear skirt" option that "went between the mufflers." Problem is, the web site pic of it was no indication of what it was, and the dealer had no idea either so they just ordered it and put it on.

In reality, it does need something there to hide the exhaust mufflers. I would prefer the actual AMG kit rear valance. I think the "rear skirt" I was getting would stick down, not out.

If I had to do it over again, I'd get the AMG package and swap out the wheels. I HATE not having the sport suspension. Luckily, a friend of mine told me his brother works for the MB parts warehouse, and can get me the parts at wholesale price, so I'm going to see if he'll order the sport suspension parts. It was the best option on the 2005, especially only $200.

If I can't do that, I'll probably get the RennTech coil over setup.

Oh but the AMG package, you loose the spiffy side illuminating lights. Love that feature. Mercedes even realizes most of the dolts who buy their cars don't use turnsignals (if you're on here, you don't qualify as that) so they go on when you turn the wheel. It does look weird when you get the car at Valet and one light is on only, but they realize when it fades out. Hey, worth it not to run over the local cats.

Hopefully going to get the gallery software up at slkusa.com of my car, all Euro delivery etc. Also will set it up so all you guys can put your car pics there and put links in so not taking up space at other places.
