ABS/BAS/ESP lights - top - HELP!!! now cruise and tranny
[QUOTE=4thesun;2125594]Had the same problem today. Started the car, put down the top, ABS/BAS/ESP lights went on and the top would not go up until I turned off the ignition, turned the key to position 2 (all lights on, no cranking) and the top went up.
I will take it to my service guy and ask him to try the fixes outlined here, cheapest first. Do you know the part number of the part that your dealer ordered (wheel motion sensor)?
As an aside, I just had it in 4 days before this started to have the motor and transmission mounts replaced, oil change, state inspection.
Where is the K40 board to look for bad solder joints? Is that the PSE pump in the boot, if its wet that could be one of the problems with the roof? I recently took the vacuum door lock module apart, saw it had been wet, and cleaned everything with electric board cleaner - got my door locks working again, but not my interior light. That was a couple weeks ago, and will look at it again.
I will try to find the main oil tank in the boot which controls the roof to see if it may be low on oil. Where is that, anyone? If all looks good then I may have a bad limit switch for the roof?
Any additional advice would be welcome!!
First, I don't know how SLK 320 got here (my mistake I'm sure) this is an SLK 230 2001, 145,000 miles, daily driver.
New info. So on my way home I found that the cruise control no longer worked.
Next, went to the grocery and the car has difficulty shifting into gear, once it gets there, it will only run in 3rd gear. Car is parked in the driveway. I will try cleaning the board on the door lock pump again, but don't have a lot of hope about that.
Oh, yeah - the CHECK ENGINE light came on. I'll take a look at the codes and get back to you all.
This looks more and more serious -- or simple, I hope.
