Hi Guys, My SLK 230K is almost due for a service. It currently has 107 000 km on the clock. I will be taking it to a MB dealer. What needs to be done at such a service? I would just like to have some sort of a benchmark for reference. Also, I have been told that Mobil 1 is the preferred engine oil. Any comments?

66,000 miles is not bad for a 230K. Do you have the owners manual? The car should have FSS which determins the level of maintanence required.

Thank you Tslick, I shall consult the manual. I live in the backwoods and do not want to be done in when I have the car serviced.

You may want to do the service yourself if your handy. Change oil, check all the fluids, check/ replace the belts, replace the plugs/filters, check/replace brakes. The A service list is small and expensive, the B service list is very expensive.

They may be listed in your manual, if not i called my dealer and asked them, then i did the work myself. $350 for the "A" service was crazy.
