Default Planning on buying a navigation system for my 00 SLK 200 Komp.

Hello everyone,

This is maybe a dumb question, but I don't have a clue

Will this fit in my R170 200 Komp.?

Do I need some extra wires, etc..?

Thank you in advance

Thats a single DIN unit, Im not sure what size is in the 170, i dont remember, and I was to young to know when i dad had one.

Single DIN is most headunits tho, double din would be a like 7inch screen or something with a cd and tape player in it, like a ford headunit or something. I would be able to tell with a pic ill go search

Thank you for your answer.

I figure the size on the Pioneer unit is "standard" size, but I don't know if the R170 OEM player is standard. That's why I'm asking

Does your 200 have the Bose OEM headunit? If so, you'll need to consider running the line level outputs from this new unit as the Bose system has an amplifier under the passenger floorboard driving the 2 ohm speakers and subs behind the seats.

I'm sure someone here will elaborate and/or correct me if I'm wrong or incomplete in my assesement.

Good Luck!

Yes I have the Bose system. I'm sorry, but what do you mean by running the line level outputs from the Pioneer unit? I'm totally green when it comes to stereo, so excuse my stupidity

The Line Level outputs are taken prior to amplification. The Pioneer has an amplified output of up to 50 watts/ch.

Since your OEM system will amplify what is being sent to it, you don't want to feed it the amplified signal from the Pioneer. You want to feed the Line Level signals (RCA Preouts) since it is much lower in power, typically 500ma/ch as opposed to the 50w/ch the Pioneer delivers.
